Car won't start, burning smell

  tiTTy & SV650
My flat mate's 306 won't start, the battery seems ok as the starter motor cranks over but it won't start.

He noticed an electrical burning smell in the car when this happened, possibly just a fuse?

It started, he drove it out his space and got round the corner and the electrics went weird - radio segments all lit up etc then it stopped and hasn't started since.

Any ideas? Fuel or igniton problem would seem obvious but the electrical aspect and burning smell suggest something else?

Cheers, Rory

maybe the starter solenoid is getting stuck on which burnt out when he started driving causing the burning smell????

nah the starters ok, good shout though have heard of that before.

Earth strap from battery to chassis is no more, somethings burnt out as a result it'd seem.
