I don't mind I can always have a run over to you and drop them off or pop to mine, saves postage! Also I hardly drink!

Back on track. @Christ Almighty where are you at with this problem atm? Are you waiting to visit efi or next step try different injectors? If you need a hand I'll happily pop round and with my expansive and diverse knowledge of swear words I'm sure we can make it better. I'll even bring a can of petrol just incase it's a lost cause. Hi mate, im going round to a friends in the morning to fit my new lambda as my jack is broken 😧

Im booked in to see Chris at efi next week, he said hopefully it wont be too difficult to diagnose what the problem is.

I havnt tried the injectors yet as i dont have a spare set, ill see if scoff can let me know what the problem is before i throw anymore money at it.

Can a moderator please clean the thread up so we keep on topic?

Thanks everyone.

Good luck next week then. Is the guy who was interested in buying it still interested or has he been put off?

so today i have changed the lambda, cleaned and regapped the plugs, had the multimeter on the injectors, cyl 1, 2 and 3 are all 12.7 and cyl 4 is 13.3.

Its still running like s**t, worse when cold, it also sounds tappier/knockier at the top end especially when cold, could the timing have slipped?

Also the injectors dont seem to fit in the inlet far enought but they wont go any farer due to the brackets on the rail that bolt it to the inlet. The o'rings are showing and dont seem to go in the inlet far enough?

grab a pic of an injector in the rail to show the plug and how the injector is sitting, unlikely to be the problem but the nozzles are 45 deg out to the clio ones so if they aren't in the right way that could make a bit of a difference. unlikely to be the problem but worth checking.

Also when i ungplug each connector off the injectors, the engine note changes on every one, so im guessing they are all ok.

Although when i unplug cylinder one, because the injector wont shove in far enough and Because i have to pull on the connector i can actually hear it hissing air out, but when i let go it stops, they just wont go in any further unless i file some plastic off the back of the fuel rail brackets so that it sits further in.

Grab a pic mate. I rekkon this could be your problem

Ill pop round in ten mate and put them up, cylinder two injector fits nice and snug, the other three dont go in and you can see the o ring clearly not pushed in far enough into the inlet.

I could put them in the inlet first but then im guessing ill not be able to push them into the rail far enough, and if i do they will just pull back out of the inlet.

Heres a few shitty pics of how far the injectors push into the inlet, its physically impossible to push them in any further.

Its weird how cyl 2 injector goes all the way in but the other three dont, excuse the missing clip off injector one, it didnt have one on when i received my car back from ct.

Cylinder 3(cyl 4 is a b*****d as its hidden behind wires and s**t but it looks the same as cyl 1 3 and 4)

Sorry about the pics, i cant get my phone in to capture them properly, but as you can see, injector 2 goes into the inlet nicely, the others dont.

unbolt your fuel rail and tip it down then push and the injectors should seat properly. then lift the rail back up and bolt it into place. also looks like your injectors are orientated the same as the clio ones, they need to be 45deg out otherwise you're going to have potential issues with port wetting. without looking in the flesh is guess at the injectors being pushed a bit to far into the fuel rail as well.

I will have a check tomorrow, the injectors are only pushed in the rail as they should be, just popped in, i will give everything a double check tomorrow and try your method of refitting, i did take my time refitting and adjusting and thats the best i could get them.

you should find a massive improvement when you get them seated. i had a phase 1 in once than was 'cammed and mapped' from a specialist bolton way or somewhere like that? lumpy as hell on idle but did pull well, sorted out a faulty injector and two absolutely knackered seals and the idle was nice and smooth!!

The o rings fit mate, but the injectors dont seems long enough to fit down the little pipes.

I assume you have checked they are all the same length & part number?

I have noticed 225 meg injectors have green O rings, in what way (other than colour),do they (the O rings) differ from the usual black O rings on 172/182 & standard Megane?
