digital slr

Would it not be best to get a new d40x? Im currently looking at them and the general feeling with people is that its the best introduction into the digital slr world. There are a few starting to pop up on ebay for £409.
10mp instead of the 6mp of the orginal d40. Ive been reading up and it also has a built in help feature for amatuers almost like the manual built into it. Thats where ill be spending my money

think im going to go for the d40 from jessops. £329 store pick up today. The money i save over the d40x im going to spend on bits for it.
General feeling it its not worth going to the d40x as the extra pixel rating is only useful if printing above a3, which i wont be doing.

Really don't like the look of the Olympus DSLR system. Smaller sensor for a start and the top end lenses are well over priced.

350D, 400D, D50 or D70s would be a good start. Go to a shop and have a play.

D40 and D40x, as far as I'm aware only work with AF-S lenses, which quite frankly sucks, no auto focus on the 50mm f/1.8

Just a warning in advance; don't be surprised when you look to lenses and they cost more than the body :clown:

p.s. when deciding, mega pixels mean very little...
