Got the dent man coming out to me Thursday.

In other news, I'm changing the colour of my dash strips, clock bezel and side bullets. I feel it's slightly too dark. I have some Nissan Techno grey paint in my toolbox so will try that.

Good luck on Thursday, fingers crossed its an easy fix.

I look forward to the updated pics of the dash strips, I've got to re-paint mine at some point as I have the same issue as you with mine being too dark.

So as mentioned above/previous page, I had a nasty dent recently. The dent guy was called and arranged for thursday. Its the same guy I've used on all my cars and knows he's way around a clio as he's done a few other members cars too. The time was arranged for when i get home from work and as i pulled up he was already there. Said our hello's, made us a hot cuppa and then he got cracking on. I asked if he wouldn't mind me taking the pics which he didn't, so i'll let the pics do the talking:

Super happy! I know its far from mint and it has scuffs, chips, scratches, etc. Its a had paintwork done in the past and even though ive scuffed the front bumper, ive never really been overly bothered by this, but the dent annoyed me. I guess because i wasnt aware of it or did it myself. Simon's work is great as you can see so if your in Essex then drop him a call, if you need to. Its a shame that he had to be called out but very happy he was, considering the circumstances.

Few pics of him doing my old BG a few years back:

I then shot over to my Tesco to get some bits (the one where the RB was damaged) but parked in a better spot!

As mentioned earlier, i kept think that the interior painted parts where a tad dark. I quite happy with the dash strips but the clock bezel looks a tad dark in the surround so ive decided on Nissan Techno Grey which i had. I also had a spare set of side badges so ive don them too. Plans are to go into work tomorrow to finish te off and do the dash strips also.

Ive also been thinking of painting the calipers also. Normally i'd do them silver (in fact ive done the rears in silver already when i had the anthracite turinis on) but as i have the white 2118's im thinking of going different. I did think red but i thought that was a bit too try hard so ive gone with this:

Will give it a go tomorrow. At the end of the day, i can always do it a different colour if i dont like it.

Like the Nissan grey, I want something like that but with more sparkle for my 15's. The speakers in the bumper look good, are they loud?

There is plenty of colours that are similar. This doesn't have that great sparkle but I had some spare in my toolbox so I though why not!

As for the speaker grills, they can handle the huge gigawatts!

That dent removal is seriously impressive!

Car looks great mate

He did good!

Flol at hand held spraying

Wheels still look terrible :-*

Hand spraying, because man?

I'm ignoring the wheel comment as your wrong.

I'll second that! Looks a fantastic job, you'd never know it was there!! I know that's the point, but you know what I mean. The Nissan Silver looks good Mark, will look forward to another update on this

Oh and nicely done with the Tesco parking!

It's just a shame that I had to pay for it not to be there like before Steve. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's sorted and was good to have it done, but better if I didn't need him round in the first place.

Done a few things a while back but its been hectic since so i haven't updated this thread.

Fitted the painted side bullets as they had been lacquered.

Then i went to work and painted the calipers blue. I think they look good and actually quite subtle. Not the best paint job in the world but better than rust! They just look cleaner behind the wheels.

You will notice that the center caps are off in the last few pics. This was because i removed them as the lacquer had cracked. I sanded them down, gave them a repaint and relacquered them.

Old vs New

Its hard to capture the colour but its lighter than before and i prefer them.

The brakes had felt spongy since i had painted them, not sure why. I was unsure when the last fluid change was so i bought some new fluid and did a change at work.

All bled and then this happened.

Luckily it doesn't leak fluid. We did countless checks and all is good and its gone as far in as pos before it broke so its fully sealed. I will eventually buy some second hand calipers and fully recon them with new seals, SS nipples, etc but not yet. Brake pedal feels nice and firm so its all good for now.

Lastly i gave it a clean and got some pics over the next 2 days.

Looking great Mark, i'm loving the dash trims and bezel in that colour, suits the interior soo well......... i'm looking at your callipers thinking maybe I should have been more adventurous than silver but no, the silver suits the oem+ look and silver wheels, the blue on yours suits your white 2118's really well....... a little focal point behind the wheel

Looking brilliant as always Marky Mark.

Thanks Ethan

Fantastic shot!!!

34667531791_417fdd2fef_z.jpg

I was really happy how that one turned out. It's one of my faves so far

Looks so good inside too. Great stuff mark

Cheers buddy! The colour is hard to capture it fully on camera.

Looking for Mark. Bleed nipples, what a pain in the area they are!

They are mate. My guess is there's are all original so got to be expected really. Luckily it's not a issue atm.

I have some spares if you're in need. Not SS though.

Thanks for the offer Louis, but I'll get SS ones when it comes to it. There not that much money.

Thanks Steve. I'm happy with the colour choice.

As for the caliper paint, yours 100% looks better on silver as it looks oem. I would have done if I didn't have white wheels but I felt it just wouldn't look right and needed some colour. It's still pretty subtle behind the spokes.

Can't improve on perfection, Mark

Too true my friend

That's how I'm going to lick James's face when I see him at CSF

Great pictures mate, car looks fantastic

When you said you were painting the calipers blue, I wasn't sure tbh, but seeing the final results I think it looks really good.

I also really like the colour of dash inserts & bezel, they freshen up the inside nicely.
