Engine variations 1.2

Hey, first post... sorry if i'm breaking the rules!
Basically i have noticed the 1.2 16v engine bay look rather different... I picked myself up a Haynes manual but it doesn't show my engine. I'm just curious to know if they are the same engine just ones better looking than the other?
Ive got an 05 plate Clio "Extreme" Mk2

I have the same engine as you mate. From what I've been told it's one of the last revisions of it on the 2005 model. They are essentially the same engine IIRC.

Ahhh that makes sense, i remember asking the dealer but he had no idea... So if its the same, i should be pretty OK to just follow the book ? I only ask because my thermostat is stuck open and fancy giving it a go.

You should be fine to follow the book yeah, locations could vary of the parts though!
