Exalto PE2

My car in currently in the garage getting some new Exalto front tyres however they only have a W version of them instead of a V?? They told me that the tyre is capable of going faster but I will notice no difference.

Can anyone confirm this please?

Be careful how much they're charging you, as I thought the difference in price was quite big - £50 odd for the v and £80 odd for the w ones.

Ring around for a better quote.

Local ATS said £76 fitted which i thaught was a good price

I paid £77 a tyre (£154 for the two from mttyres.co.uk) The £24 for fitting and balancing both. Total cost £178.

So about £25 less than you have been quoted. Delivery of tyres was within a week too!

Already fitted now, as you say it was £12 per tyre. My local Kwik fit wanted £17.50 per tyre. So all in cost would have been £255 (2tyres @ £110 each plus £17.50 fitment)
I saved about £80 in the end, so still happy! :star:

Stevo - the other alternative is to vist www.blackcircles.com
You put in your postcode, and they arrange for a local tyre fitter to fit them for you, and quote you the price "all in".
They're fractionally dearer then MyTyres, but they sort out the fitting, so there's less hassle.
Give it a try.

Couple of weeks back PE2s were £87 on Mytyres, up from the £75 I paid for the first two sets I put on the 182. They are back down to £78.80 each as of now. Most of the tyre dealers I have rang locally have quoted me £100 plus fitted. On the advice of Fred, I have tried Yoko Parada 2 for £72 delivered from topgear.co.uk and had them fitted locally by someone I trust at £5 a corner.

I honestly think that the car feels the same as on the PE2's, I have tried to push them and the grip wet or dry is excellent. They also look good if you are bothered.

Only thing to see is how they last, have had 14-15k out of the first two sets of fronts, but I do a lot of motorway miles.

That's the problem with 182s: the 16'' wheels. My 172 has 15s. My PE2s (195/50/15) usually cost around £50, fitted, balanced etc and with a free plastic seat cover too. Last pair of Exalto's actually cost me £45 each!
