What should I be looking out for?
Mainly to be used for films/gaming?
Does surround sound plug in easily?
Is a screen needed or can you chuck it up on a wall?

1) lumens/brightness and how many hours the bulb has.
2) depends really, I don't think the response times on projector will come close to a screen
3) surround sound should be plugged into your source ideally, IE PS4, media centre etc..
4) you can put it up on the wall, but it would look better on a screen.

Check out AVForums, probably the largest and most comprehensive site about AV that's UK-based - they have a whole forum section on projectors IIRC, as well as decent reviews.
