Been refreshing the suspension on my 182 and noticed the trailing arms are a bit grotty, short of total removal what do you guys do to halt rust? I've thought of just a wire brushing and Acf50 or just wiping over with old engine oil. Is that a bit of a naff idea?

Old engine oil is a good rust preventer, but its very messy and don't want it on certain areas, brakes/ rubber bush,s etc, so no don't think its a good idea.
