Return of the Renault:)

Is the front wonky?

Some good touches, much cleaner!
Now you say that it does look a bit off centre but I can assure you that its as straight as its going to get:) its where the previous owner had a coming together with a high kerb and pushed the bumper out and tried to repair it himself :fearscream:and now its a bit oval Lol,will get it sorted properly eventually but its quite low on my to do list.SJ.

The job for today was to change over the accelerator pedal and spruce up the foot rest with an added addition. The Gas pedal that came with my car was rubber but the brake and clutch pedal are metal so it looked well...."kind of out of place":blush:So after sourcing a working replacement that functions as Renault intended,I proceeded to swap them over.

How the Pedal and footrest was...

Been a while that I have updated my thread...And for good reason I will be breaking my Renault Clio for parts so any parts needed just let me know.As I have now got the Clio model that I originally wanted a'CUP'?so I will be putting my touch on it in 2019...I have been spending to much hard earned money and most of my time on my Subaru...will update with some picks of the Renault once it gets a proper clean.SJ.

SJ I wish you’d have posted this 3 days ago!

Just got a pal to buy a non-runner for track use but this wouldve been perfect for him..

I’ll ask a few friends, If I’ve learnt anything from DW, it’s that the decent people tend to stick about and their reputation is very reassuring.

I’ve no doubt that this car will be a decent buy for anyone interested

I want it myself! ??

It’s been a while since I last updated my thread I have been trying to raise some money for my Clio project build and to tell you the truth I’m finding it quite difficult as I still have things that I need and want to do with my Subaru.....but I decided today to put my project money woes on the back burner and give my Cup a quick clean up today and a cheapish mod[emoji6]....How she started....

I like the way that some members have put that new style badge on where the Clio badge on the right of the boot is,looks more updated[emoji1417]Their bloody expensive though for what they are loool but I have decided to just get one and stop complaining about the cost...One more thing new wheels ordered inspired by Mbeau choice on the black RS that I sold him[emoji1417]So I’m really looking forward to receiving them, they are an oldie but a goodie and suit the Clio perfectly[emoji1476].SJ.

I was originally going to get Brembo’s as I know that they are a quality caliper”bulky but they work”[emoji6]but decided as I was going to run 15” inch wheels that the Wilwoods was a caliper that can be fitted under them with minimal fuss...As my Cup project is going to be a forged rebuild eventually with some forced induction running through it,I have decided to get as much of the supporting modifications done as possible, before I tackle the heart of my project....My wife decided to give the top hats a spruce up for me,as I had purchased some VHT caliper spray paint...

Hello guys and girls, its been a while since I have updated my thread and for good reason,i have had a serious engine problem with my Subaru which is my main project and has been for the last 13 years, so my project Renault has to be ended as some proper money has to be spent on my Subaru,so I have decided that I am going to have to say good bye to my Renault and all associated modified parts,i will be starting a for sale thread as soon as I get over my disappointment and hurt.SJ.

  SI-STI 2.35 & RC-172
After talking to my wife I have decided to keep the Clio and progress with the project:)but it will be put on the back burner for a while until I get my Subaru fully repaired and sorted out,im glad really as sometimes you need another train of thought before you end up making rash decisions...the Clio gets to take another breath(y).SJ.

  SI-STI 2.35 & RC-172
Well my Subaru engine problems are 99% sorted just a couple of small things that need attention but that can be looked at in the late spring...car washed and put to bed until then...

I will be focusing on my Clio now once my monetary level improves i will start buying parts for my forged engine rebuild and start fitting the supporting mods that I already have, really looking forward to getting this Clio project properly moving.SJ.

Mate i will do some of the work myself, but what i cannot do i will get a a specialist to do,so i am still in a similar situation as you are,the only difference being is i know what works and what parts that i want to use on my build which gives me peace of mind to an extent...

That’s valid mate what type of power are you looking at? Mine sits at shy of 190bhp at the min so 230bhp will be plenty for me I think

Will be 350+ but that is why my project will take a tad longer to others as I am trying to strengthen all surrounding supporting mods as well...230bhp will be quick in a Clio Mate but my Renault 5 turbo i had was around the 250+ mark so i need to push the envelope a bit further with this one (y)

  Clio 172 Cup
Makes sense mate if your anything like me if you have a plan in your head you do it properly and ensure everything is bang on with the best part. I have spent good money over the past 18 months replacing upgrading everything and anything to make it clean and solid. 350bhp 😲 s**t I can’t even imagine what that’s gonna be like

Send me a picture of the batch number on your diff mate - you may need to send it back as they’ve had a few issues with certain batch numbers.

I’ve had to send one back to them for a box I’m currently rebuilding for someone. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  SI-STI 2.35 & RC-172
Will be getting a full rebuild when
Looking forward to some updates, love a decent turbo build! I take it your keeping the JC5 box?
Will be getting a full rebuild and strengthening as much as the o.e cup gearbox can,i know that they are not the best for handling massive amounts of torque but the gearbox are a hell of a lot cheaper to get right compared to a Subaru 6 speed;)

Well I said that I would not spend no more money but after cooking dinner for the wife and giving her a foot massage;) i convinced my wife to buy me a PMS gear shifter it was not essential but a good friend of mine had a bad accident in his Clio and had the PMS shifter that he purchased a while ago stored up but it was still brand new never fitted...
