Stupid question - but would a 2000 W Reg 172 be the same as a Mk 2 Ph 1 Clio 172 listed in the guide on Fubar?

Phoned Renault and they said there was no record of this car being sold new with Alarm. Can't get wiper arms & mech off but can roughly make out Cobra in there somewhere. If Cobra after market alarm, would it still be under the wiper mech? Just need to turn this thing off, its going mental.

Does anyone have any links to alarm diagrams or install/uninstall guides on the factory fitted alarm for a Clio 172 W Reg (ph1)? Need to replace the existing alarm (diagnosed as faulty by Renault). As always the guys behind the desk dont give much away. Is alarm hooked up to the immobiliser...
