Had similar issues a few years ago working on one of my Civics, working at a set of council garages and this bloke kept coming out all the time f**king complaining at 9pm during the summer. Ended up in a massive argument and the police went round and we never heard from him again. Proper f**king c**t, I swear you are allowed to be "noisy" until 11pm anyways? Then 11-6 you have to shut up.

Looks really clean! Good effort so far. Who did the wheels for 200 quid tho. I cant get em done for less than 300.
Local place in Hull.

£180 for loose wheels no tyres
£200 for loose wheels with tyres on
£250 if you take the car in with them on

Day 15.

It’s being an Alfa again. Warning lights on for both my side lights, which were fine for the last 2 days...

I’m also getting a weird noise when first making boost, but only at around 1bar, at 1.6bar it’s not there.. Will check all the inlet pipe work I had off first. Worst case is a turbo...but they are only £200. Winner.

Other than that it looks so f**king awesome, I love it.

Day 17.

200 miles after getting it back on the road and it’s still weaping PAS fluid. Where the f**k is it coming from? Everything, pump, tank and lines, are new! How can it leak?

Also the new aux belt is 0.5mm wider than the old one so it rubs on the other belt that passes it. Grrr.

Other than that still looks sexy and does 50mpg.

It's the Italian way, I was in a Iveco dealers workshop last year and the transporter dropped a brand new van off with a crate engine in the back because the one fitted didn't make it off the production line and they couldn't be arsed to fit another so left it for the dealer.

Bought a used inlet manifold. Split it open to see the state they get in!

Just look at it!!

The total inlet should be 48mm, this one was down to 28mm at the narrowest.

Also the swirl flap ports which are needed for the cold start are totally blocked!

Can’t wait to get this one cleaned up and on mine!

If I can throw my two pence in, DONT do a swirl flap delete. Done plenty of them at work aswell as owning a few 1.9cdtis ( same s**t less 1 cylinder ) and they loose low down torque and abit of fuel economy.

Fit the EGR restrictor plate from fiat ( has 4 holes in it as a pose to a full open gasket ) will help keep the s**t down

It already has the 4 hole EGR plate.

It’s pissing boost out of the swirl spindles, so I don’t think I’ll notice the loss in torque.

Get it welded then , the bungs that you glue in ain’t really 100% reliable.

welded , face skimmed and new inlet gasket will have it sealed a treat.

Day 22:

500 miles done after fixing it and all is fine.... the PAS leak I thought I still had was mainly down to the fact the subframe is hollow and full of PAS fluid from the big leak.... so its all slowly finding its way out.

It also makes a weird noise on throttle initially (like belt squeal/boost leak) but that's it, so I'm taking this week as a win.

Averaged 44mpg this week giving it some.

It also just rolled over 96000 miles. Which I feel is part of its problem, 8700 miles a year is no good for a diesel. I'll soon sort this though!

Day 25:

Checked PAS fluid, it’s not there.... f**k sake.

Of course it had two leaks..... so now I’ve found it...

This bit of hose between two hard lines, it’s only 2” ffs!

Since the arrival of the Aplina this hasn't been used much.

Just ordered a new PAS line, so I can finally fix it and get it sold.

I’m exactly like this, buy something with my heart, throw £££ at it - get it running right and then sell it now it’s running right 😂 but still loose ££££

Since this has been on axel stands for a few weeks, thought I’d try to start it....

Fired up first time!

Leaking PAS line taken off it, what a fucker that was, now have to wait for lock down to end so I can take the line to be fixed!

Day 100ish

Not moved for 9 weeks. Been on axle stands all that time. Waiting for a genuine pas line to turn up.

Fitted it. Which was an utter c**t of a job. The battery is totally dead, so I can’t do much with it sadly...... fucker
