First & current hot hatch

  172 cup
On my first golf, Mk5 GTi on a 57 plate. So far so good.
They are good cars not a patch on a mk7 but I've had mk5's at all diffrent stages

I've worked on 100's niki at rtech tuned a good few of them my ed30 was 380 bhp 405 lb/ft torque dsg a bloddy fast hot hatch

That ED30 is Lush mate. Very nice. 👌

Golf Gti's are great cars, just not exciting. As I get older they appeal more to me, but they're certainly more of a good allrounder than an fun hot hatch.

  Land Rover
Our Up GTi was a fun little car, only downside was the seats were standard VW Up and not in any way sports seats.
A strange omission.

1st 1983 Mk1 XR2 in White, three years old 30k on the clock, one lady owner never been above 4K, blew the exhaust off on the way home.

Followed by most of the hot hatches of the 80, 90 & beyond.

Wife still says I need to grow up, hence my compromise, not done 300 miles since new.

Most missed choice of three,
Helios Blue MK 1 campaign, ottinger conversion.
VW Golf G60 edition, fully Mike Truelucked Jabbersport.
VW Polo G40 same as above.

MG Metro. First car. Shocking excuse for a car. Used to look for hills for high speed runs.
Megane 275 cup-s in ly. Fully loaded. Awsome car.

Loads in between.

It was sold back in 1990 as the “family Ferrari” as it had four seats.
That “family” would have to have been well off to afford the £67,000 price....around the same as a 3 bed house at the time
Ferrari only sold 24 Mondial t’s in the U.K. There were three earlier versions which weren’t that great, which gave the model a bad reputation. The Mondial “8” was a bit rubbish according to reviews at the time although you’ll pay upwards of £30,000 for a good one now.

Just so people know l am not rich !!
Values for for the Mondial t had dropped to less than the price of a new Ford Mondeo when l bought it in 2010, although they’ve gone up a fair bit now.

But now’s the time to buy your dream Ferrari!
Values are down 30% at the moment, they have been falling since last year.
Running costs can be ruinous through, think it costs a lot to get your dephaser and cam belt done?
Try it on a Mondial t, 348 or 355. It has to be done every two years even if you’ve only done 300 miles.
The engine has to come out for a start....twenty hours labour (including putting it back in)

Any pictures?

Passed my test in 2014

First 'proper' hot hatch was a Monaco 172. Then scrapped it and bought another Monaco to make 1 good car from 2

Bought a couple of 172's as stop gaps and then broke them afterwards and same with a few Megane 225's.

Now got a 175 Meg with a 250 LSD and a 172 fast road/track car

I own a 182 arm too but I've only driven it a handful of times😂

That rear end looks immense, but the exhaust looks a bit silly, are they like that as standard? Never realised.

Yes, two exit pipes set back behind the outlet in the bumper, in race or perso once warm crackles & pops like crazy.

My first hatch was an Astra SRi. Glad it got written off.

First hot hatch was my BG 182.

Best hatch was my Sun Yellow A35 (company car) and is the only car I miss.

Currently rolling in this (not a hatch):

Once we’re back to work and I start my new role, I’ll probably return to hatches and get an A45S for a while...

This is probably only my real 1st hot hatch and is also my current. I've had an XR3i (Not road legal) and I used to drive around in a friends Fiesta 1.4 Sport! But I've always owned classic cars, this was my real first delve into a more modern car!

It is currently broken and miles away from me at the moment and I aint half missing her!

This was taken on a trip down to the South of France.

In between I've been through a Mk7 Golf R and a Mégane RS250 as well as a couple of more boring diesel barges. Golf was by far the best daily while driving the Megane was the biggest 'event'. The Fiesta is probably the most enjoyable chucking around the Norfolk roads though.

Try a mapped R.
different game altogether and will still do the normal daily and family stuff.

I have. 400bhp+ or something, on a track. I'd describe the experience as brutal rather than fun. Not the sort of car you can throw around like a rag-doll.
