Great thread.
I'm currently thinking obtaining parts numbers to change all my suspension bolts etc.
Did you find the part number for the stick with the VIN number etc? If so fancy sharing as I'm after a new one for my Clio.

This sticker above is NOT classed as a VIN sticker and cant be bought. I got mine via Renault UK after months of waiting & sending information regarding the car and details.

The VIN sticker to buy from a dealership is around £70/90 IIRC
You also need you driver licence & V5 for the parts department to order and and supply one.

WOW sounds like hard work.

Cheers.

looks an awesome LY and the attention to detail is brilliant.

Whats the plan for it? IMHO it looks a little confused with the 200 wheels / diffuser - much preferred it beforehand.

Plans are all mechanical now.

I like the look of the 200 diffuser and wheels and thats all thats staying and nothing else.

If I get the chance I will fit a set of Projector headlights with some good bulbs but other than than its all about changing all things suspension along with clutch and some other things I have for the car like new seat belts, Door handles & rear discs and pads.

Well they all arrived apart from 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
£281 later on nuts and bolts and the car is almost ready to be booked in to get all the work done.

As you can see I have printed off everything and highlighted it to show exactly what goes where.

Well I dropped the car off tonight along with the last remaining parts of the hubs for the big build.

Well no big updates but done some cleaning today.

The door cards where extremely dirty and I mean bad, The cloth part was so dirty that you could scrape your name in the dirt.
So today I took the door cards off and gave them the best scrub ever with the snow foam and jet wash.

I then decided to give my mats a snow foam and scrub and then run the carpet cleaner over them to suck the water out them.
As you can see they have turned out very well.

The next thing thats been annoying me for months was the air vents and how dirty they had been just with general use and dust inside them, They where then taken out and put in a bucket and cleaned , Rinsed with water and refitted and it has made a huge difference just to get into all the vents and small parts.

Everything is spot on and I still have a load of genuine trims that are still in packaging to fit.

Well had some time on my hands and decided to sort some items on the car that have been outstanding for months.

The banging stared on the manifold weeks ago if not months and I never got round to sorting it.
Bought myself a new febi mount for £12 and decided to set about it which was very very simple and an very easy job.

Next up was the dreaded window seals, I have once again had these sitting for around a year and I have put off doing them due to the fact that you need make sure the glue has been taken all out.

Next up I have a pile load of new interior trim parts that have once again been sitting for ages so I thought I would change the two interior kick plates that run along the side of the sill as mine are badly scratched and marked.
Once again these are brand new genuine renault parts.

Well been letting the car slip alot as of late and just use it as a day to day runner now.
The car runs as sweet as a nut with the amount of work (Engine / Suspension / Mechanical) I have put into it but I must say I have lost the love for it.

Last week I decided it was enough of the miltek and plus I have a 200 diffuser with Akra carbon surrounds thats sat for months in the shed and I wanted it on as its a far better look.
So the decision was to chop the miltek system and change the tips or fit a very low milage 200 exhaust system.

For the cost of £8.00 for two exhaust sleeves I went and fitted the Clio 200 exhaust system and saved the Miltek from being chopped and wielded.

Along with that I got all all my spare bottom arms stripped, This was a bit of s puzzle until I went to my renault specialist (SWR Stirling) and there is a couple of easy steps.

1, Take the rubber boot off and grind the ball joint
2, Wield a large nut of the top with some wield inside
3, Buzz it off with a gun and jobs done.

Last but not least there was an oil change with new genuine parts right down to the sump plug and washer.

As always some pictures for viewing.

Looks good with the splitter, not fancy the skirts to match?

You should look into an akrapovic for it, best sounding exhaust I have ever heard, it's how it should have left the factory. It's the only aftermarket exhaust I've ever owned that doesn't sound like an aftermarket exhaust!

Some more stuff done today.
Had a very small rust bubble on the rear 1/4 and had some LY paint that is a good match so had a friend fix that and its spot on.

Also managed to get all my door handles painted in KAD so can get these rebuilt up this week after changing the Micro Switches in them.

Lovely Marc and top work as always👍

But I have to agree with the rest of the comments - please put the original 197 wheels back on as the 200’s look odd (sorry for the negative comment matey).

Why on the LY repair is the gap between bumper and rear quarter now filled?

So thought I would change the door handles over and what a nightmare that is.

Popped the Gromit off to turn the T30 torx and it just kept spinning and spinning and nothing happened.
Gave up on that so tried to get the main handle out. After messing about with this the large metal block that is attached to the white plastic clip has fully dismantled and is hanging inside the door not attached to anything and not working.
This means that I cant fit the door handle.

So im now driving around with no door card, Half the stuff inside the door stripped and hanging and no door handle on the outside.

Totally a C**T of a job and not a job I want to do so off we head today to my renault specialist to have them do the handles.

I don't think the Torx screw behind the grommet does come out does it? It just rotates a bit to allow you to pop the small part of the handle off? I just put a trim tool behind it and it popped off.

The handles were a bit of a ballache. My mate wants me to do his now he knows I fixed mine :ROFLMAO:

Nothing ever go's to plan when French assembly is concerned. That's why I'm reluctant to start doing most jobs on my car😂. Also why I own 3 clios🤦‍♂️.

Want the link to brand new genuine rear calipers? They were 70 euros each not too long back bud

Also, get some Mr Pink Pins please, don't do all this pissing work to use those horrific pins. Especially not in Scotland ffs!😂

Brakes & Pins are all good mate as normally get stripped and cleaned when in for work anyway.

Im thinking its going to be cheaper for new callipers than to get mine refurbished as spoke to a couple of people today and they are not cheap
