  Whichever has fuel
Hello everybody 👋

I appreciate I’m a stranger round these parts but some friendly advice would be appreciated.

I’m after a new glass sealant. I currently use Angel Wax but purely because it’s quick and easy. But I’d like to properly clean the glass of my van and out something a bit more manly on the glass.

Any recommendations ch

Angelwax glass cleaner is good.

I can't be bothered with glass sealants anymore. I find they never last as long as stated and once they start to wear off they are worse than not having anything. Sayimg that the Angelwax screenwash is good and adds a few beads

Ooooh, that could be a good shout. I’ll give it a bash.

I use aqua wax from Autosmart now and again. The blue stuff you dilute and spray on. Not a glass sealant as such but seems to work well tbf

In2detailing and use the code Forensic

The infinity wax Quick detailer is also good on glass.

Easy to apply and use would be rain x and then rain x screen wash in the reservoir.

Otherwise something like Gyeon View, also heard good reviews about the Carbon Collective option, platinum glass ceramic coating.

Always found rain x to be a bit crap. Was years ago and maybe didn’t apply it properly or something.

It doesn't really last more than a month anyway but if you wash your car every month it's easy enough to reapply.

Only issues I've had with application is in winter when the stuff doesn't seem to dry properly when it's cold and damp.

Gtechniq G1 kit.

lasts at least 2 years. 3 coats on the windscreen and 1 on all other windows. I swear by the stuff.

This is what I use too had to redo it after a chip repair though but other than that it's brilliant stuff. Not as simple to apply as some but it's really not that difficult and will be well worth the extra time spent when it's still going strong 1-2 years later.

I always buy the large bottle as well as it works out so much cheaper. Enough to do about 6 cars in the big bottle!

15ml = £11
100ml = £33

They are definitely cost effective. For ease of use and longevity, carbon collective. For longevity proper prep and application g1 is really good.

Gtechniq is still thr daddy imo but it's fussy to apply

I'm currently using the Soft99 Glaco stuff and am pretty impressed with it and it's durability. Daily never gets washed and has done about 5k since applying it and it still beads and shifts water good enough to not need wipers, Good going considering it's not had a clean either

Sealed my alloys with Carbon Collective and a quick wash and QD with Infinity Wax Rapid Detailer, absolutely love that stuff & the watermelon smell is a nice touch.
Also used Infinity Wax Diamond Vision on the glass, really easy to apply and beads well, will have to see how long it lasts.

This. Plus every other wash (because it’s monthly at best) I spray the entire car with aqua coat. Keeps it beading as a sacrificial layer.

A month? I did mine almost a year ago and it’s still going strong.

I’ve been trying out Sonax BSD recently for the first time and I have to say it’s very very good. It’s made the Megane look incredibly glossy.

Application okay? Not used it in years but some say it’s quite grabby and often mix it with another product.

That Megs bucket is really nice.

Just ordered some Gyeon Q2 Tyre. Just wanted something different from Megs Endurance Gel

Does anybody know if it's possible to have scratches polished out of the lacquer of a diamond cut alloy wheel face? Smart repair job? And does it actually look any good or just turn out s**t looking?

Mrs needed a new tyre on her car, and the tyre fitter has made a right c**t of it and scuffed the faces of the spokes all round the centre of the wheel. Think it's been done by the balancer machine.

Don't really want to have to refurb it as it is (was) an immaculate wheel on a basically new car...

Great product. Around satin finish and deserves properly clean tyres. Nice choice.

I've tried it and it's a bit fussy as you say, they need cleaning well.

Seems to take ages to dry for me as well. Wasn't very keen on it.

Using Carbon Collective Sateen now, it's mega.

Sateen is really good. I got a free trial with a purchase. 2.0 was one of the best I used. Reminded me of a thicker carrpo pearl.
