Haven’t updated in a while but not much has been happening

Tried a few different panel boxes and mc set ups to get the pedal feel a little harder and I’ve gone with the cup racer 23.8mm mc. I had to get some adaptors made up because the mc was m10 all the way round

Some industrial estate fun 😂

I recently fitted the PMS pedal box in mine , pain in the ass to fit , but what a difference , not cheap but well worth the money , my grey one also has one , fitted by Mike,
That was going to be the next step if I couldn’t get it how I liked but one of the issues was also my calipers. I was getting no brake then fully locking them up with just a tiny bit more travel on the pedal.
I tried my brothers brembos on earlier will the same pad and the brakes were back with no lock at all.

Do you run a servo on yours , when I first put the AP kit on mine it was either on or off , no feel in between , so I disconnected the servo and ran it like that ever since I rallied it , needed a good push to lock up , but plenty of feel before it did lock up

Yeah I run servo, but I did on the old car too and it took a lot to lock the brakes.
On this one with my brembos it was literally on or off and locking every time.

The ramp angles on the diff don’t help either though so I’m sure your car will be even better on the new box.

I’ll rebuild my calipers and try again, but servo disconnect or even a tap in the servo to give a little bit of assist

@Nathan Evans Ive just tried to remove the pistons out one, 1 piston moved easy which was brand new when I rebuilt them a while back, the other 3 which were original and showed no signs of wear are pretty stuck. All I have is a small electric pump which is maxing out, needs a proper air compressor. This is probably whats been causing the pedal problem.

It was the ramp angles in the diff generating 90% of the issues mate.

Not sure how all these pictures are going to upload but slowly getting there with the car now.

New 35/90 diff plates fitted which has transformed the car ☺️

I’ve now gone for 300mm brakes as I’m running 16” due to the final drive set up for 16” and you can get better tyres in 16” due to R2 cars being more popular as I don’t think there is a holomogated rally car running 15”.
So more development is spent in the 16” tyre.

I did try a 305mm Punto brake disc which fitted the caliper brackets better but the offset is 0.7 mm different and on new pads it was binding

Another upgrade is the bump steer kit. The Cup racer tapered insert was removed and fitted with one from France, a lot better idea than drilling the hub 12mm like some do and still having a taper.
Due to the cup racer hubs having a lower steering arm attachment I had to fit the spacers upside down as I needed to higher the steering arm not lower it.

I’ve also fitted the dash I’ve had for a while, I was waiting to do this and the steering controls at the same time but the rough old dash looked horrible, haven’t bothered with the wheel controls yet and not sure if I’ll fit them.

Finally had a proper test over the weekend on all the new parts that have been fitted and what a difference.
Car is now drivable, no unwanted lock under braking and can drive the car left foot braking and going down the box with no clutch now with the more open diff on decal.
The whole package now is mega.

When is the Epynt races? I’m pretty local, if they’re allowing spectators.

I ran a few laps with slip&grips go pro inside the car and they’ve made a short video with the footage with more drone action

It’s a week to the rally at oulton with plenty to do

Whilst checking over the car yesterday I noticed a little weep from the radiator so that’s off to be repaired but I ended up buying the new pms rad for the clio cups as the engine sits lower.

New bottom engine mount for the subframe will be here tomorrow as I’m having issues with that mount killing bushes, the new one is up rated but along with that I’m fitting the engine mount back into the arch with a pms engine mount for added security.
I don’t think a subframe mounted engine can cope with the hammer of rallying

Rear beam needs moving over on the mounts. We fitted new bushes before the test with a toe shim to get the geo how I wanted. As we done it in a hit of a rush the beam is pushed over to one side and the tyres been touching the arch.

2 new front bumpers painted and fitted with cup racer ducts as I smashed the other 2 bumpers I had 😂

The new carbon airbox came today and it’s unreal. I’ve had carbon parts before but the quality is mega. This won’t be fitted for the rally as I haven’t got time to alter the map. That can be fitted after the event when I’ve got a little more time

A little comparison on the air filter vs the air box

Well done today Nath, great result, and for Josh too.

Definitely taking it to the RWD boys - never seen so many Clios in the top 10 of the 2.0-litre class!

Some last minute gearbox issues weren't there?
Well, yes and no lol. The main thing is, all areas of concern were identified and rectified mate. But there was a lot of head scratching going on in my garage on sunday morning before the culprit was found - and it wasn’t even the actual real culprit of the issue in the first place 😂

I’ll leave the rest of the details to @Nathan Evans

Not sure where to start with this one but all I can say is @NorthloopCup is some man
I’m not saying he will do this for everyone but who can you drop a gearbox off to at 11pm on a Friday night, have it stripped by 12 and picked up the next day, for then you to call him at 12:30am asking can it be dropped off Sunday morning at 9am with a separate issue 😂 what a legend,
I got home with the box at 3pm on Sunday and was at oulton at 5:30pm with a running car 😂

All this work to find out what was casing the issue was loose bolts through the ball joint to wishbone, but on the ramp moving the wheel there was no play at all. Only when I tried a spanner on them the real culprit emerged 😳

Anyway the rally. It wasn’t the most enjoyable I’ll be honest, catching rich men who can’t drive in 150k cars isn’t ideal 😂

I came away with 2nd in Class so all the hard work paid off. The car is a little battered after the sheer commitment needed on this event due to the crazy competitive entry.

Here is SS7

Cheers man, the lap without him in front was 6 seconds quicker, I was loosing so much momentum in the corner having to slow for him.
My brother caught him on a stage and put it in his rear quarter 😂
Hahahahah bless him, just goes to show money and skill are 2 different things🤣

Tbh its funny watching you and your co-pilot both screaming "get out of the way you f**king c**t"🤣🤣
