Power Tool Perverts

The drill, impact and grinder, I’d also like a hand held circular tbh!
What size circular?

How powerful do you want the impact?

Baby has just turned up. Really decent size and nice and light.

@JamesBryan have you seen the modification you can do the 1/4 extended length ratchet?

Just been having a look and you can swap out the anvil to one from the 3/8 non fuel ratchet so you have the smaller head/thinner profile of the 1/4 but with the attachments for a 3/8

I don't have the extended ratchet so would be nice to have the best of both worlds.

I've seen something like that yeah.

Mine is the 3/8.

I just bought a corded angle grinder as for the amount I'm likely to use it I couldn't justify the battery version.

Thinking my next purchase will be a multi tool, seems like it would be hanfy around the house.

Far too poor to have a selection of red, I've only just started buying tools since moving so am just on Bosch 18v.

My DIY Skills would be wasted on anything better.

I said that at the start of this thread and now look 😂
I was just about to comment saying I've just read the first page of this thread.

Can't believe you were considering makita or dewalt ya todger sniffing pedo

Milwaukee tools are quite cheap really when you consider how long they last and what they are capable of. They only get expensive if you keep buying them 🥵

All converted. Used an angle grinder on the anvil to reduce it in length in my haste to sort it but in hind sight I should have just skimmed it in the lathe at work. Doesn't make a difference at all really, as long as it slots in the housing.

Works really well, will definitely come in handy.

OK, I know what @dann2707 is going to say but hear me out. Just sold my Ryobi impact wrench and drill as quite frankly they were a bit crap. The final straw was the chuck locking up on my drill.

Anyway, looking to get a drill and impact driver first as a kit and then buy another impact wrench later down the line. I only do general DIY and a little bit of work on the cars so they're not going to get absolutely hammered.

So, the toss up is between these 2. Dewalt kit seems good and can add a meaty impact wrench body only for 150 quid that's 900 odd nm. Or spend a bit more for the Milwaukee stuff and add an impact wrench which will work out more expensive than the dewalt one.

Is the Milwaukee worth it for a DIY weekend warrior?

One of my techs has a dewalt drill, srewdriver and small impact and never let him down. Used almost everyday, we have milwaukee stuff aswell for the more powerful needed jobs. Milwaukee is unbelieveably good but I can't personally see the need to spend the extra if its only for the odd diy job. Save the money and buy more tools..

We use Dewalt stuff at work and it's fine in all honesty.
For your DIY needs it will me more than capable

@NorthloopCup started on the Milwaukee tackle and was impressed

Tagging you in here Mark so you can join the Milwaukee cult mate 😂

Aye get the big Milwaukee gun. They're so powerful they can undo anything. Even undo wagon wheel nuts, bad marriages, unwanted children and cheating on your mrs

Ebay have 20% off atm, I messaged @JamesBryan for ideas and I've just spent over £400 in 3 chunks🤦‍♂️😂

Looking to buy cordless drill and impact driver - Purely for home DIY use.

This looks decent for the money, especially with 2 x 4.0AH batteries:

Anything better / comparable out there?

Well when I did the research between the snap on 14.4 3/8 impact and the Milwaukee m12 3/8 impact it was just a complete no brainer.

More power and a 3yr warranty on the Milwaukee vs snap on. I’ll take the snap on junk home and use it there, or just f**k it off all together.

Im looking for a battery ratchet, and swinging towards the milwaukee. Do they have plenty of power?

They do for a ratchet mate. Make sure you get the fuel one as it has more power than the original version.

I've undone 16mm hex bolts with mine before, best thing is you can just use it like a ratchet too so if the bolt is stubborn just crack it off with the ratchet and squeeze the handle for the rest of the bolt.

Note the 3/8 is more powerful than the 1/4

Make your choice on if you prefer power over access too, as you can do what I did recently and get the lesser power 1/4 unit (54nm) but has a significantly smaller head on it and fit the 3/8 anvil.

Also I recommend going for the extended reach unit as it has exactly the same power as the nonextended reach model in the same anvil size.

Havent used that in anger yet

I'just bought this yesterday. Bangs 5 inch screws in for fun.
My mate bought the same kit a while ago and said the battery lasts all day and still has plenty left.
