Card sounds like it's having quite a workout, fan going ballistic.

The program really didn't like Norton at all.

Yeah antivirus programs never like miners at all, you'll also probably find Windows Defender will randomly delete it.

Try underclocking, memory speed is all that matters so you can often drop the core clock and power limit dramatically which will place way less thermal load on your card. Also of course less heat = longer life.

  Shit little Yaris...
So, mine the s**t outta BTC, the sell it and buy Doge.

Issue still there. BTC ain't dropping away any further at the mo.

Comical mess.

Well, BTC has basically lost the jump it made when Tesla said they'd take it, which reduces profitability, which incentivises miners to use the cheapest power available to them...... 🤷‍♂️ (OK, let's face it, they don't need incentivising to do that, but it makes about as much sense as the crap being spouted all over the media)

I guess a lot of people who've been riding the insane rises recently decided to cash in and it spooked the market. No-one ever said these coins were stable.

Do I double-down and add another card for moar hashes......

At scalper prices, no. At sensible prices you’ll easily make your money back, but watch out because the newest cards off the production lines are nerfed to half hashrate.

mine/buy like f**k when it’s low, then surf’s up in 5 years time when it moons again.

Yeah scalper pricing is just insane. I'm trying to stay off the beaten track as much as possible and praying the market doesn't completely crash.

Basically if it looks like it pays for itself in three to six months I'm happy enough, then if it actually becomes unprofitable I can just sell the hardware. Even if it's way less than I paid for it who cares as long as it's covered the costs.

I look at some of the ASIC kit on eBay and I can't believe the prices they go for, it must be either spares or dumb people because a lot of the older, cheaper ones lose money now. Crazy times.

Anyone know how NiceHash works out daily profitability? I’m confused, ETH and BTC have both fallen today, but my daily profitability in £ is showing much better than yesterday - by about 25%.

My hash rates are still the same, but does the amount of work your miner gets allocated vary or something, different amounts of idle time maybe? N00b.......

Your payrate on nicehash relates to the amount of transactions to be processed rather than the price of BTC/ETH although obviously the price of BTC will affect the value of your payout. The payrate jumps up and down too -

So depending on when you refresh your figures it could be on a peak or a trough. The best indicator is your 4 hourly payout.

Well musky boy did it again.
I refer you to read this, it all rings true.

Reddit - MuskyBoy!

If you wonder why on a Sunday, prices of Bitcoin went even further down in a bull market, it's unfortunately correlated to Elon's tweets. This isn't natural market behavior.

As of today, he is fully attacking Bitcoin, Bitcoin developers, and calling Bitcoin centralized. Wonder why he is behaving this way? I predicted this.

I posted this 2 days ago and it got 1.5k upvotes before the mods deleted it for too many Elon Musk-related posts. This is the content. I think it's important people recognize he is behaving more and more like a person with narcissistic personality disorder.

The topic:

Everyone might have mistaken Elon's intention. This isn't about pumping and dumping crypto.
I worked with someone who has narcissistic personality disorder a few years back. He befriended the founder of the company and slowly took over control of the company.
He hated everything that wasn't his. He wanted control, to be part of the leadership of everything so that he could feel the company's success was his own.
He didn't like things he couldn't control. If another company we worked with, didn't involve him in their decision-making process or ask him for advice, he would go off on a narcissistic rage and calling then names. It was his way or the high way. He wanted credit and fame off every success.
The way Elon acted so far was very similar. He has a history of kicking out the founders of the company like he did with Tesla. He didn't like Bitcoin calling it just less shitty than fiat before Tesla bought it.
He promoted Dogecoin as a joke but slowly began to say things like "Fate loves irony. Maybe dogecoin would be the world's currency" and received a lot of love from the Doge community. Then proceed to try to get involved in Dogecoin's development.
Then he talked poorly on Bitcoin, calling it not eco-friendly and hinting at dogecoin's acceptance just few hours earlier.
I'm getting the same narcissistic vibe. I think what's going on here isn't about pumping and dumping. Elon knew he couldn't participate in Bitcoin since there's no Bitcoin ceo or team. He couldn't take over Bitcoin's development or tag Bitcoin to his own credits. He couldn't say "Bitcoin's success is thanks to Elon Musk."
I really think this is about him trying to get attention by literally trying to become Dogecoin's CEO (the dogefather). I think he's trying to make Dogecoin's development his and when it succeeds, he can give himself the full credit.
This guy is literally trying to get everyone to think of himself as the innovator of Crypto. Space, electric cars, neural link and AI is not enough(he bought into these companies founded by other people and credited their success with his own).
He is trying to be a crypto innovator as well, desiring other people to give him that title. This is a pure narcissistic ego trying to be recognized as a genius.

After my post, he attacked Bitcoin on twitter calling it centralized. Wanting to implement 10x block size for Dogecoin or say he will make his own crypto if doge doesn't do it.

Insulting people who disagree with him. Calling veteran blockchain developers as bad at math. Thinking his paypal experience transfers to crypto. Claiming credit for Bitcoin's market cap.

He's attacking Michael Saylor as "Saylor Moon" and telling him to tattoo bitcoin on his thighs. The way he attacks people is very childish, insulting them instead of attacking the central idea. This is exactly how this narcissistic guy I used to work with and not something people expect out of a mature and grown adult or a CEO.

The veteran developers of crypto are slowly realizing this guy is full of s**t and childish at that. And you can say "stop the Elon musk spam and give him more attention", but the guy already has attention.

What we need is to spread the awareness that he is just the product of good marketing and also claiming credits for others' success.

This is the swimming pedo guy incident all over again. He gets insulted, throws a tantrum, and gets revenge. If you want to see how this turns out, I'm guessing his narcism will take over as he tries to do his own crypto and advertise it as the world's currency. Expecting his audience to "Thanks elon musk for bringing us the best crypto ever".

Check this video to see Elon Musk debunked:

Edit: As of few minutes ago, it looks like he will get Tesla to sell their bitcoin. Just because some bitcoin devs insulted him for being delusional, he is getting revenge by selling Bitcoin.

Edit2: Found this gem. Hilarious video. First minute in the video, both founders of Tesla said "We don't know why he has to say he's the founder when he wasn't" while laughing. Even Tesla founders don't know why Elon publicly lied about being the founder of Tesla

I was tempted with the mining route but the scalper prices are ridiculous.

Saying that you can get a new Dell XPS i7 with a 3070 for just over £1600 which is tempting, just not sure I wanna spend that much :)

Overclockers had some stock of RX 5700 XTs at not-especially-obscene prices, I was weak, and out came the credit card.

I feel so dirty. Three months ago I was all "goddamn mining scum, driving the prices of cards through the roof, what are us poor gamers supposed to do". Shhhh don't tell anyone in the Power PC thread. You ain't seen me.... right?

Yeh I've set my fans to 90% and replaced the thermal pads on the memory over the weekend, vram temps sitting at around 76c with overclock to around 1350mhz :)

Pull the side of the computer off and stick a deskfan to blow into it, loads better cooling.

He’s an absolute prize prick. But it’s encouraging to see that BTC hasn’t completely crashed after his convenient about turn, it’s proving to be bigger than he is.

It's just market manipulation no isn't it? Definitely seems like he's intentionally doing it to drive the price in a certain direction.

Yes and no, I think people are starting to make angry noises about the energy costs on a wider scale, and it’s difficult to sell electric cars that you claim will save the earth when you’re using tonnes upon tonnes of Chinese coal to dig up magic internet money. When that coal mine blew up the other day it wiped out a third of the global hashing power.

Hey look, a sale!

On the other hand, glad I left my system mining before I went out this morning, Eth mining rewards are like 6x the normal today
