Forza Horizon 5

Hmm, I'm actually having trouble running this on my PC. The issues seem to be related to streaming data from the drive it's installed on - which is annoying as it's an NVME M.2 drive with read/write performance that is more than a match for the XSX hardware. On XSX the loading times are minimal and the experience is pretty seamless; on PC I'm having pauses of 20-30 seconds on transitions and cuts! It's certainly not a PC spec issue!

In the meantime I'm playing on the Xbox Series X - which looks, sounds and plays beautifully. First-world problems! :ROFLMAO:
Very weird as im running mine on an old SATA SSD and I have no issues

Yup - it is. The SSD is rated at 7GB/s and 5GB/s read and write (although I'm running through PCI-E v3 rather than v4 at present so realistically half those rates).
I have it installed on an M.2 and not experienced any long load times, that I'm aware of. I don't have an Xbox to compare to though.

Plenty other bugs 😂 but not that one

Highlight so far is going too hot from a corner into a bridge and thinking I'd just deflect off the railings to find myself going flying through and into the river.

I'm pretty sure all previous games bridges were indestructible.

I do think they overdo the rewards slightly. literally throwing cars at you every 5 mins. i'd prefer to work a bit harder and focus on upgrading

Isn't that for fear of players not being rewarded enough though? These days achievement and unlock progression have ingrained newer players to some bizarre type of instant gratification.

I'm with you - work for the damn things. Gran Turismo 1 gave me $10k and my first clapped-out Supra. "Eeee - it wer grand when I wer a lad"

This is true, I logged in this morning and got 2 lambos for what I can tell was just logging in again.

Gone are the days of actually working for stuff but I think gaming 20 years ago was a bit of a niche market, nowadays the money involved means they need a large captive audience so giving away bonus stuff often helps keep people immersed.

Saying all that I did go straight for the Lambo Centario.

Sort of agree, like the old Gran Turismo days starting with something sh1t like a Mazda Demio A-Spec and having to grind for ages to afford upgrades and new cars. God I spent many many hours on those games and thoroughly enjoyed it.

But then today's youth who want it all on a plate and they want it now would probably kick off, so they have to cater for that generation.

They could have struck a happy medium though IMO, so you worked a bit harder, but it's also nice to be able to get into something quick pretty soon.

Let's face it we're (mostly) a bunch of middle aged men now who should have grown out of this... 😂🤣

Yeah the option for slow progression would be nice. I've binned about 20 cars already because I don't want them filling up the garage. No point in even auctioning them either because money comes easy too.

I agree with the progression etc but the have to take the casual gamer into account.
I’m currently building my dream car garage consisting of Mk1 frs, Z3 mcoupe, Volvo 850 etc etc

Gift the spare cars for kudos.

I am not going to buy any cars unless I have to in order to complete Forzathon challenges. You get so many free cars from wheelspins and the weekly challenges that you can probably collect all of the cars without paying for any.

I guess it is a balancing act with progression. I recall in GT2 (?) that I did a 30 minute endurance race and was awarded a DENSO Supra.

It actually ruined the game for me as this thing would pretty much trounce anything else in an eligible category.

I did love the old GT days of starting with a poo car and working up and the early horizon did this i think unless my memory is shot.

Like people say, they have to keep people involved quickly.

I prefer to have a wide array of cars that I can modify - even playing on a relatively difficult setting, your credits do not increase that rapidly. I've not bought a car yet, and I have about 3m credits, but a legendary car is around that. Having laid out on the premium version, I did get some good cars to begin with, which has really helped.

Anyone seen the AFK Goliath trick? Just put all assists on then tape the accelerator down and do 50 laps after the race including spins you'll get about 15 million.

I guess I got lucky as apparently it's quite rare to get it but I got the Forza Edition Sesto on one of my first free spins. Absolute weapon of a car.

Used the DF video for base settings, but seems like a few are broken or not working as intended atm. Happy with minimum 60 and looking as good as it can.

Does your FH4 game/save count anything towards the new one?

Think u get gifted a few cars for playing previous horizon & motorsport games.

Yeh, it's one specific car for each version you've played previously.

Looking on reddit it is buggy though, and hasn't showed up for everyone (including myself). Hopefully it's fixed soon.

The road up the volcano near the main horizon place is proper epic, Like a mini pikes peak hill climb. Keep buying/tuning new cars to run up and down it
