Hi, new member here. I bought this ph1 last year which I do I like a lot. I love the way it drives, sounds and looks. In hindsight I wouldn’t have bought this particular example, but I did and I’ve learnt quite a bit about cars in general because of it.

I had done hardly any research on these before buying. The ad and the car had been presented well and I missed/brushed off any negatives. After buying the car I started to do the research I should have done in the first place and upon further inspection I presumed I had a rusty car, obviously this was very frustrating. I parked it up over winter and sent it off in April for any problems to be sorted out. As you can see my presumption about rust was correct unfortunately. I don’t have pictures of the passenger side sill but apparently there is only a small hole. It is currently all being sorted along with a few mechanical bits and will come back to me having had a major service. I can’t wait to get it back around late June.

Saying that, I’m unsure as to what comes next with this car. It has had a poor respray in the past (yes I know, I was very naïve when I bought it) and needs a high quality full respray to make right. I’ll either finish getting it up to a ‘good’ standard and probably keep it or if another good example comes up for sale at a good price I may sell so long as I haven’t committed too much to this car. Apologies for the pictures they're the only decent ones I have at the moment.

Welcome, yes the dreaded rust is really starting to take these cars, however very glad your course was to save it this far and not immediately break for parts.

Hopefully you'll get it back soon and enjoy it enough to keep it
