I've taken out the spare and tools and the backseat rests on a sport (more to come) already it accelerates better in third gear and stops quicker to. This isn't placebo as my brakes are utter shite (got a full set on order from g172)
If shedding weight just means the suspension/brakes/tyres...
How are 99% of suspension setups "too soft for track work" when as standard its designed as an out the box track car. People rave about 172 cups yet aftermarket suspension is too soft so therefore cup suspension should be too soft.
Im confused.
Yeah im still undecided to be honest £400 is still cheaper than the B14's and im not looking for a pro racer setup just something thats more darty for the roads and nicer on track.
Neither. Just buy a cheap 172. As been said. They are just Clio's after all. Sod resale value. According to many people 205 Gti's should be worth a million quid right now but they aren't...
I don't know why people haven't covered the rear wheels. Thats a huge aerodynamic benefit right there provided the brakes have ducts.
I think spoilers and diffusers usually just complete a "look" a bit like how a 172 has massive arches that are bigger than they need to be tk fit the wheels in.
I think thats more to do with the car "bouncing" over them and the wheels losing grip for a split second. Can never have it all which is why most reviews said they preferred non cup RS models over broken surfaces.
No its a full size 172 sport wheel with tyre and jack etc.
Debating on stripping more of the car now but the rear looks "tidy" as is. Also not sure if theres a lot of weight to be saved for a road/occasional track car.
I think im going to go for b14's as im no pro driver and I spend more time on the road tbh.
That and I couldnt set a car up....if I did that the car would end up being a fwd drift car the way I like to drive lol
The odd thing I found is removing the spare wheel does make a difference as its so blooming heavy. But what shocked me was taking out the rear seat rests which weigh nowhere near as much. That made a big difference. Steering feels lighter at the front now!
Could be that the spare is very...
Where's that from?
From searching I've done no one on cliosport actually seems to like any suspension thats available. I was debating on cup dampers and pro line springs the added advantage as it looks stofk to an insurance company.
Whats the general opinion on these?
Better than say prolines and cup shocks?
My car will never be an out and out track car. I would like to do at least 3 a year though but its going to spend most of its time on the road to be honest taking me from work and back and just me driving.
I know...
Looks awesome especially without plates! What suspension you got on it again? BC?
The missus is whats the word "approving" me buying something big for the car and i'm thinking suspension would be the one thing that would otherwise take me ages to save up for.
Im thinking B14's?
Epic bump....I tried and failed to remove mine as I have no idea how a torx piece can physically fit to undo the last bolt by the bits you sit on. Must use miniture tools in France....
Let us know how you get on with fitting them and whether you use the sliders or not and how supportive they are Im debating on them, sparco sprints or bimarco futuras
