I'd love one of those £50k Abarths you know the new track spec one where if you choose every option its daaaaamn expensive.
I know its stupid but I'd much rather one of those than some audi or bmw. No one would expect a little 500 to be so quick!
Can't wait to get home and fit the engine mount. Also had to get a new exhaust mount as my second one in 6 months was royally fucked and couldnt be assed to ring ktec and get them to order another one from renault under warranty as we'll just be doing that every 3months and will get annoying so...
Im going on with just a vibratecnics engine mount, dogbone mount, standard brembo brakes and pads with ducts off ebay, ktec exhaust, uniroyal tyres and basic stripping!
Only extra I think I NEED is bucket seat and harness and cage.
I broke a windscreen trying to put one back on a 106 gti once if that makes you feel better.
The worst bit is I only removed it to save time untangling the thousands of air fresheners it had hanging off it when I bought it.
Im going sensible as I can with this car. No engine mods and only fixing areas if the car that are already weak.
Yeah Clio I got rid if the 106 as it was going to turn into a real money pit all the mods I had planned.
I was going to put them on my 106 gti and you'd be surprised at the weight difference between them and glass.
Also you are losing weight from up high on the car which will improve COG and handling (although probably not as noticeable as the weight lost)
Ordered these brake ducts...http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/321767058814
Getting ready for track has meant I've bought a vibratechnics engine mount..cheers @DannyR not fitted yet though as at work.
Not ideal to be going on track without buckets or a cage or even decent suspension but better to go and...
I've seen a video of a Clio at Blyton and the guy had just got stiffer suspension and the car was suffering by being bumped around.
My fav example is that the r26r had softer springs than thr r26 due to the weight loss. Most track dayers will have done this also.
If I were In the market for a car like that my money would be on the civic type r as it looks the nuts!
I think I need to buy a sensible car and a track only car so im not tempted to drive fast on the roads
For me that stuff is free weight saving as the difference it makes is questionable. Removing carpets and stuff does make a huge difference ti a daily car though.
Same guy has another fiesta parked next to it. From what I can see there are two tailpipes but the rest looks exactly the same and its a previous gen model as wellI believe. That said the same criticisms could be levelled at the Pug 208Gti and the new Clio EDC.
I must admit I got a little...
Bloke over the road has just bought one and I must say I don't really like the look of them...I like @Matthew one though. Must be the splitter! I think my next car will be a 200cup or potentially an ST if I can't stretch to a Megane 250. The benefits of the ST being MPG and torque over the 200 cup
See im intrigued by what im hearing about these cars and am tempted to see if the hype is justified.
That said I'd wait till they are at the 5k price bracket as imo its too much money for a warm/hot hatch.
