Managed to give the Megane some TLC on Sunday as it really needed a bloody good clean!
My mate Kris snapped a few photos alongside his Focus ST.
I'm going to miss the Megane, but one thing is for sure I will never buy another black car! They look great when clean, but that lasts about 5...
I don't know about you guys, but the want is strong with this one!

It's got plenty of potential, but maybe that's just in my mental opinion.
Firstly I'd get rid of those horrendous headlamps...
Haha!
I have already said something similar to the wife... I'm pretty sure she has seen right through it, when I mentioned an ITG induction kit would be a nice simple mod! 😂
Cheers Rich I'll keep you posted. From the time of ordering it's supposedly a 3 month build time! That's going to drag I just know it! 😂
Ideally I will try and get some track time in before Blyton and maybe a weekend drive on some lovely Welsh roads!
That my friend is one of...
I'm afraid not mate!
It's nothing personal, the Megane has been great. I just fancy something new!
The urge to modify the Megane just isn't there. I think all the problems I had with my Impreza has really put me off throwing thousands at a car that may or may not let go when you least expect...
Yeah I bet mate.
Fitting a Quaife to my Trophy was the best thing I ever did. Even over the supercharger!
On track it just makes an already very exploitable car even more potent.
Something I can only assume will happen also to your ST!

I'm going to take the 220 Trophy for another test drive, chat things through with the salesman and if it all works out will hopefully be looking to place an order in February!
Plenty of time for it to get built, ready for a day on track at CSF18! :grinning:
I can totally understand the preconceptions when it comes to that gearbox. I have always liked the MK4 Clio but the gearbox was a real deal breaker, but I took the plunge and took a 220 Trophy for a test drive a few weeks ago and it honestly blew me away!
Fair enough it wont appeal to everyone...
Makes me laugh when people complain and slate a car/gearbox they haven't even drive themselves.
As they say, opinions are like arseholes. We've all got one...
Boom!
Full weekend pass, and a full day on track.
Probably won't be in the Megane, possibly a 220 Trophy but we shall see...
Either way roll on August, and I'll see you all there!
Cannot wait!

Nice update Mark!
That Lion battery might be 'cheap' but it's still got a three year warranty.
So for £35 you really can't go wrong!

Took a 220 Trophy for a test drive this afternoon, and it really is a fantastic car.
Genuinely impressed with the gearbox, and what was a real deal breaker is actually one of the best features IMO.
Need to sort a few things out, but an order maybe placed in January! [emoji106]

Dave hows the 'wind in the hair experience' !?
You bald b*****d! 😂
I know I tease you buying a vert, but regardless who cares about my opinion. It's a lovely car and I'm happy that you've finally bought one!
I need to come over and have a gander
I phoned my local 'Martins' Renault dealer and they do have a 220 Trophy demonstrator, so I've got a demo/roadtest booked for 3pm on the 30th of December!
I will keep you posted mate.
Mate that's really good of you, thank you.
I will drop you a message via Facebook next year to arrange a time and a date.

Thanks mate! I know what I'll be doing this week! [emoji23]
Cheers Rich,
Once Christmas and new year is out of the way I may well take you up on that offer. I'm not sure if my local Renault dealer has one to test drive.
For me the automatic gearbox/paddles etc is the deal breaker. The rest of...
Yes mate it's cracking car and in hindsight I wish I bought one ages ago!
I keep looking at the Clio 220 EDC Trophy and will be definitely test driving one next year to see whether the auto box is a deal breaker...

Cheers guys, plenty of food for thought!
I may price up an OE fuel pump, as already mentioned I think it would be worthwhile part to refresh.
If the Renault part is up to the task then I won't bother with a Walbro as I don't want to go modifying anything. Unlike my Trophy I really don't want...
