Thats what I am kind of thinking... I am wondering if it would be too much.
Didn't think about using electrical tape to visualise it. The rear spoiler doesn't bother me so much - I may look at sorting this in the future, but its not top of the list currently
Cheers man, I doubt it as there is a lot going on here and I may struggle to get it on the road by then, but I will surely consider it.... it does need a shakedown.
This is as good a thread as any to ask I think...
Should I paint the front window edging?
I am talking about the lip around the...
It is a little way off on the 'importance list' at present but it is still something I am keen to do. Not sure how I will approach it yet, the way I see it there are 3 options:
- either make one from scratch
- Reverie make different width panels which I could utilise
- look at using something...
Cheers mate, kind of you to say.
The rear bumper is certainly marmite - but with the flat boot floor the bumper would have been quite a big parachute.
I will fit a diffuser at some point, that will certainly help the #upskirt style rear end
Not sure which car I have been buying parts from all this time....
Just gone through the thread.... didn't realised the journey was so long.
Have subscribed so I don't miss next years upload
UPDATE:
As with the annoyance of the handbrake cables I was feeling that I needed to do something positive with the car and as previously mentioned I wanted to get it down on its wheels - despite not solving the handbrake issue and knowing I would potentially need to get it back in the air at...
This is exactly what I have (kind of) done.
After chatting further with @barnesautos I have now ordered a ph2 handbrake mech.... hopefully this solves the issue.
UPDATE:
Handbrake cables. Well today I finally got chance to fit the firstline cables tat I ordered the other week...
These were Firstline part codes 3334 and 3335... The ebay store advised these would fit as did @barnesautos
Well I can not say I am surprised at the outcome in all honesty and...
It is indeed ‘the art thing’. I am a Graphic Designer by trade. 21ten provides custom/bespoke automotive art (effectively it is me colouring in 😜).
I was being careful what to show but good to hear it has been seen and liked, thank you for the kind words. 👍
UPDATE:
The handbrake lines have turned up, I just haven't got chance to fit them yet to due a poorly little boy. I have also got a new smaller single flat blade wiper - hopefully this will help solve the wiper issue. I am hoping to get some time on the car this weekend, I am desperate to get it...
I think they look good on the majority of the phase1 colours.... But for sure now I have chopped it around and painted it a garish colour it massively updates it and suits it more.
Ha, that makes me feel better. Do you Poorboys your race wheels?
We have found the issue and it has the...
UPDATE:
A small but positive one...
The rear lights have been changed out for PH2 items. I was very much against this for a long long time, wanting the keep the ph1 identity. However as soon as I got them on my mind was made up. The PH2 lights just work with the green so much better and make it...
UPDATE:
These also turned up this evening, lovely condition. I am unsure yet how I think they will look on the phase 1 - but they will help me with trying to sort the light wiring.
If I don't like them they can always be sold again.
Sacrilege???
UPDATE:
Sorry brake lines have again been ordered from the ebay store Parts in Motion after they suggested First line 3334 and 3335 items would fit as did @barnesautos
I hope they do...
Whilst waiting for them I needed to polish and seal the wheels, with running CL pads the wheels are going to...
I will get those ordered - desperate for the car to go back down on its wheels.
Thank you for the kind words - not bad for a garage build by someone who doesn't have a clue... don't waste too much of your life though - maybe start at page 100 ;)
Adjuster is all good again now with a new nut on it,
It was just that 30mm/37mm on the cables you mentioned that concerned me, but you have advised it and so have Parts in Motion so perhaps I should gamble again.... 4th time lucky
As mentioned these look to be 30/37mm too long respectively however.
Did you have to significantly tighten down the adjuster inside the car/on the handbrake?
And what handbrake mech do you have in the car, the early ph1 handbrake mech?
Not all heros wear capes 😜
I think your the first person with a phase 1 to actually have a suggestion.
i have been speaking with Parts in Motion on ebay who have supplied 2 previous pairs and they had just suggested 3335 and 3334. I thought by the measurements given they would be 30mm and 37mm...
I thought they might be 16’s. That will be why they look like they are filling the arch. A 20mm spacer on mine caused rubbing.
He has done all this work way too quickly, lol.
i like you as a personal cheerleader 😜,
But I do agree, this would look great as an illustration./print
Great to see this come back together so quickly, it feels so positive when it is back down on its wheels doesn't it.
Love the look of it on the TD's, they sit so well in the arches.... the colour of the 2118's thought is spot on...

We just took it out on the road after that, everything about how we shot that image was dodgy....lol
EDIT ON THE ABOVE: Just looking on ECP and I think I am going to try another set from there if I can somehow order it... at £10 for 2 sets and 1 year returns it seems silly not to try.
Although it says no collections or delivery options... lol
That above post... yeah need that inspiration right now....
UPDATE:
F*cking car..... It is hard to feel positive when you spend a whole evening/night working on something and you only find the fault but can't rectify it yet....
HANDBRAKE CABLES
So I managed to get the B4STARD nut on the...
