sorry but if you are paying someone to diagnose and do the work for you the word hopefully shouldn't even come into it!! also why do you need to order tools for him to do the job?
not trying to be funny but this sounds like it's going to be a comedy of errors and cost you a silly amount of...
Belt kit, waterpump, aux belt and tensioner, coolant, oil and filter £465. You don't need the depalhaser doing as they don't fail but even if you throw another £100 on to cover it that's far from a decent price they are doing you.
the pair on the wife's car lasted near as damn it 90,000 miles before they needed changing and the bearings were absolutely fine on them still. fitted plenty of them to dailys, track and competition cars and no one has had any problems with them.
i've had shitted up/corroded rings throw a light up but not leave a code.
if it's coming on when you are moviung slow just check wheel speeds, chances are one is cocked up and reading about 2,000kmh.
it would be awful to drive on the road, peak boost at nudging silly rpm to say the least and then all it would take is a bus to stop on the wheelie bars and you ain't going anywhere ?
