Hoped the new induction cone and silicone vac hoses for my catch can would be with me today, they weren't. Sad times.
Also sad about the fact I sprayed my alloy intake elbow in an enthusiastic fashion, and have paint runs on it.... idiot. Normally good at spraying bits too.
It'll be...
Sound a good day!
Blyton is a brilliant track for mid power cars like ours. I absolutely loved it! Well worth the trip. There's a video of a blyton session I did on my thread
I'm looking at Bedford or Donnington, or maybe combe next. Hopefully book something tomorrow. Did look at pembrey but...
Good purchase
I used to hate saxos with a passion. Mainly due to the bellends from around swansea way that used to own them.
They're kinda cool now though, and seems only car enthusiasts seem to want them now, make for a good track/rally car too.
Their not a chavs choice these days.... Too...
Your plans sound good.
A good clean and paint and some essential maintenance is all it'll need.
I'm same. Not a fan of 172 wheels. Prefer 182s.
But prefer F1s to both!
Lovely flamer. Looks quite clean. Obviously previous owner spent more time polishing the car than maintaining it! [emoji4]
Hope you get it back on road soon
Fitted a catch can. Diy bracket and heat shield.
Needs black silicone pipes and a permanent home for breather filter. The supplied hoses are horrible!
Next on agenda is a new intake system....
Thanks to @Hodgins again for giving up some of his time again to change the gear oil again. Put some quality Fuchs oil in it.
The halfords crap was in there for about 5 miles. Ha ha.
Was the cleanest gear oil drop I've ever seen! [emoji4]
Had the biggest fright ever in the car when I...
Hate it when good cars get owned by knobs who mistreat them.....
Glad to see it's in the hands of someone who cares!
Fair play to you, lot of time and money to bring it back up but it's looking superb already!
I would only get a gen Renault pump. Don't get a refurbished one! I had 2 refurbed...
Yeah.
That's a cracking looking daily! Alfa estates are very nice looking motors. [emoji106]
From all the boost threads I read, seems like it all starts with a basic low boost option.... few pages later it's forged everything with 02m conversion and bells and whistles everywhere [emoji41] ha...
Bloody hell. A whole litre.
Mine didn't use any on last one I did and nothing in catch can either.
Thought so, will be a while before you get.your fiat. Gonna be good!
Well judging by the rest of your build the brake setup will be great too.
Is this going to be track only?
Ah right. [emoji41]
No pops and bangs on mine and doesn't use oil at all. So good signs [emoji4]
When I'm on track, which has only been twice, I try to keel revs to about 6-6.3k to minimize abuse.
Couldn't find a abarth thread. Or you not made it yet?[emoji4]
Man. Those seats!! This is...
Does a bent valve usually f**k the entire engine? Or is it a just case of new head, maybe cams, then all is well?
My knowledge is quite basic.....
You do hear of quite a few "dropping a valve", is it down to poor timing or just one of them things?
I'd love to boost mine, but the cost makes...
Wow. This looks epic.
What actually happened to the engine originally? Bent valve?
Low mileage too.
Makes me worry about mine. Lol.
Would love boost. Hate threads like this.... major boost envy. Lol
Ha ha. Dejavu
Yeah, Was going to take a few more pics but had grubby hands all time....
Paint strippers doing it's thing on the fuel guard as we speak. [emoji4] Will start spraying it up tomorrow night.
Yeah, would be good to get out in it. [emoji106]
I'd return the favour in the Audi...
I know.... you mentioned it when I'd already placed my order.
Thought I won't just go back and order the tool on its own now, I'm sure it'll be fine.
It wasn't. Lol.
Soon as we realised how tight it was I said "I should have ordered that tool!"
Cheers mate
Thanks very much. [emoji4]
Its a nice example. Its let down by the standard 182 alloys, their slightly scruffy.
Tbf I much prefer it on the f1s, but they have track tyres fitted. No good in this weather now.
I may sell the 182 wheels and buy another set of f1s with road tyres...
