Cheers everyone, will carry out everything suggested and update thread on the outcome.
Sadly @HMS Derv Destroyer the car has been driven overheated. Water pump was knackered when I bought it and oil cooler only just been replaced as that's what I thought could be the issue. It still...
Sorry if similar to other threads, but i've got a video to contribute to explain my problem. Car won't start for ages but once started it will normally fire back up again after the second attempt for the rest of the day. Do you reckon it needs new glow plugs?
Should add that it may have...
Part of the reason i've still got mine is that i've spent so much on it and have a lot invested in the car. If you don't have that commitment then go for something else that takes your fancy. That's what I'd do if i hadn't sunk £££ into mine.
If you've got any sort of attachment to the car then you'll end up regretting ever selling it. I still miss my first Cup and was an idiot for selling it 4 years ago.
As for value it's hard to say as they vary so much depending on condition. I doubt the value of yours, mine or anyone else's will...
Your problems are almost identical to my DCI 80's. I've tried new thermostat, waterpump, oil cooler. My coolant turns a murky black colour and the header tank pressurises. It passed the sniff test too. The oil appears clear though despite the fact that oil or some other substance is getting into...
If you need someone to do the work for you then try Engine Dynamics, they've just announced 20% off on their low boost kits (230bhp) over the next few months and the total cost is around £2500 drive in drive out with a weeks turn around. I had my conversion done by them last December and it's...
I agree. I think mine was around £180 from my local Renault dealer. Probably paid way too much for it... which could be said for everything i've spent on the car tbh.
Well that didn't last long... the Cup is now insured and back on the road. DCI is still the daily but at least I can drive the Cup whenever. It feels stupidly quick now after not driving it for over 3 months. Last service was only 3K ago but that included a track day so got it serviced today. So...
Didn't pay the earth for it tbh but regardless of price i'd never go back there again. Was a bodyshop local to me in Tunbridge Wells. They made a good job of my front bumper, everything else is crap. It's not got any worse for the time being but not sure what I can do to get it fixed?
If anyone...
In the end I got this repaired and it came back. Took it back to the spray shop and they did it again and the bubbling still came back 😞 just going to leave it now.
I'm running Eibach Pros with brand new genuine Cup shocks. They felt a little too soft for my liking when going around Brands Hatch but are great on the road.
Kind of on a budget at the moment so I think Cooksports will be the next thing I get for the car. Had them before and really loved the...
Also had this problem. Some OEM Cup shocks from Renault parts direct did the trick. Did the fronts whilst I was at it too. Cost around £160 for the lot, can't remember exact amount.
Doubt it mate. It's a proper shed and the paint is terrible. Was tempted to sport rep it but not worth it at the moment. Going to drive it until it breaks.
You can peddle well that's for sure. It looks pretty forgiving too when you push a little too hard. Still miss mine really! Ticks every box for a fun daily car.
Been a month or so since I last updated on the car. With FCS and the weekender events out of the way the car has now been sorn at least until next year.
A lot of people think i'm mad, asking "why!?" especially given the time of year and to be totally honest it's the running costs when I want to...
Sprayed with Halfords satin black paint a year ago. No chips yet 8,000 miles later. Car doesn't see much of the motorway though. I didn't prime the grill first, just cleaned it properly, painted and then applied lacquer. Really happy with the results.
Also did the lower grill and fog surrounds...
