Were you driving back through Tunbridge Wells yesterday evening (Wednesday) as I spotted a Cup which matches your description. Looked nice if it was. I was in my shed daily DCI.
Long story short, i've bought this Cat D 113k DCI 80 off of ebay (went to see it first) on the cheap to try and fix up.
I was told it needs a new water pump as it eats coolant and sure enough during the 34 mile trip home it went from maximum to minimum on the expansion tank.
My concern is that...
What's the appeal of these exactly? not saying it isn't cool.
Once did some work on a guys house fitting a compressor for his car ramp inside his garage. Amongst the Wraith, Slr Mclarren 722 and countless other nice cars he had one of these. He showed us around and was most excited about a...
Yours sold almost instantly though didn't it? because it was worth every penny and probably more IMO. Was a very nice car. There's a guy selling my old Cup atm on here, "J17 CUP" and he wants £2500 for it. I sold it two years ago for £2750 when it was mint. It looks pretty unloved now tbh. Don't...
Try finding a Cup that is low mileage, does have good service history, has original turinis and doesn't look rougher than a badgers arse. People's standard of 'mint' varies so much but for the most part even low mileage cars look terrible compared to the ones that have been shown some love...
It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay at the end of the day. It's probably the second most desirable car of the MK2's after the Trophy IMO.
OEM+ versions are hard to come by these days, but as @Cribert has said there's not a lot of difference between the one he sold at £2500 and the one...
I run 10mm at the front to clear my brakes and use a stud conversion. Works well. As above the most important factor whether you run studs or longer wheel bolts is getting a good torque wrench and checking them regularly.
Genuine Cup shocks and Eibach Pro Line springs. I wish it sat about 15-20mm lower really. I might get some cooksports soon
Thanks mate, appreciate it!. The Williams 1 was No.1 and so was the Trophy so both very special cars.
So today was FCS. I was on the CSOC stand but had a good look around the .net stand as well. There were some nice cars on show!. Was brilliant to meet old friends and make new ones. Here's a few photos of the Cup after a mammoth 4 hour clean the day before.
I just had to include some of...
Cheers pal, fingers crossed!
It could have been. I let the car run right down to nothing before filling up yesterday and the problem persisted after but perhaps it just took a while to clear. I always fill up from the same shell garage with V Power though. I won't run it down until the fuel...
A 60 mile trip up to see Alex today and the car seemed fine upon arriving. It's almost as if a long run on the motorway actually improved the car. It's not been on the motorway in about 5 months.
Alex drove the car himself for quite a while trying to get it to have the flatspot, pop or even...
Nothing looks that loose down the back but i'll bare this in mind. Very kindly Alex who works over at ED has said he'd have a look at it for me tomorrow so i'll update on here if we find the source of the problem.
Cheers Graham I'm going to check the Lambda tomorrow and see if it makes a...
I've done a quick search prior but couldn't find anything useful, i've also asked elsewhere on Facebook but thought what the heck - why not bother everyone on here as well.
My car has developed an annoying flatspot at around 5k when under full load in 3rd and 4th. There's a dip in power for a...
Few updates, an another issue which has put me in a predicament concerning FCS. Car is still holding back and has a flat spot at around 5k. Engine Dynamics are taking a look on the 6th but have advised to use the car as little as possible as a precaution until then - FCS plus the trip to see...
Nice car mate, still miss mine a bit. Once I get a house i'm going to get one as a daily again. They're such a brilliant car straight from the factory!
Depends how you define quick really. The only real comparisons I have is that my Cup is roughly around the same bhp per ton as a 135i going off of figures they quote online and sort of works out as it will quite happily pull away from my friends S3 (265 bhp version, 2012 model).
Also managed to...
The 230 conversion is an awesome piece of kit and the customer service that both Andy's at ED offer is superb. So far i've done around 6k miles as the car is my daily and I haven't had any issues with the conversion. In the end my car made 230bhp/235lb-ft, excellent figures for an old car on...
This is Marc Melhuish's Cup, he's on the CSOC Facebook page but don't know if he's on here. It is immaculate. It won a prize at waxstock last year I think. It's just as clean underneath too. Awesome car.
