I havent posted on here on a while, and whilst WFH I feel a little Forum posting renaissance coming along.
Since selling the slut of the R56 Mini world, and giving back the MK7.5 Golf GTI Lease car, I have moved on.
Last September I picked up my first brand new car purchase, discounting the...
Just thought I'd follow this one up! Stuck the intake temps on the gauge, and pretty much everything youve said there reads true.
Today driving it was a few degrees above ambient, went to around mid 30's when I gave it a good blast up dual carriageway.

Finally got the camera pointed at it.
Today I bled all the brakes, raised the suspension a few turns. It still scrubs at the...
Might change the wheels.
Other than that, as many track days as I can. The whole thing needs raising up. It looks great but the arch scrub is annoying on road and track. It’ll be impossible at the ring.
The story as to why he changed them, other than red being not very nice...
The owner before the guy I bought it off tried to dye them black and ended up with one patchy purple cushion. Completely ruined them. So the owner I got it off (as part of his massive spend on the car) bought new centres...
Cheers all!
Yeah I was quite amused when I googled the plate and found out it was a CS member.
Shame it doesnt have the Ohlins. At some point they apparently needed a rebuild, and the only owner that I havent been able to speak to (Other than Dave, the last owner, and the owner after Dave)...
I made a promise to myself that I'd buy no new cars in 2019, after the Boxster I decided 2 cars is enough and I really should grow up a bit.
So here's the car I bought a couple weeks back.
A 2009 John Cooper Works, very much "Track" spec. I've been wanting something track focused for years...
A few months back I was introduced to a chap who was building something rather cool for our petrolheads, I'd been following his endeavours out in Dubai and was excited to see what was going to be made of it over here. As it turns out, Caffeine and Machines new HQ is quite an ambitious project...
Exactly. I prefer the styling on the GTI as well, so many little bits that point back to my MK2. Fantastic looking thing. That, and a FWD chassis is always more fun than a 4WD one! 230bhp is more than enough day to day, the trade off being much better economy too.
Thats good to know its still...
Just thought I'd update with the whole lease life.
Just over a year into having it, and I cant see me letting go easy come handback time. I'll either see if they want to cut a good deal on this (in very rare occasions they let you extend a lease or just buy it off them rather than go to BCA) or...
But this time, I took more pictures... like, 20?
For those that don't know, the Sunday Scramble event at Bicester Heritage has massively grown in popularity over the past couple of years. As an unfortunate child of a Bicester myself, it's great to see something so great very local. And for me...
I’m in no rush tbh. It’s nice but I haven’t gelled that much with it, don’t care much either way
Thankfully not haha
I came from the M3, so for me it’s slow. But on the right road it can be very fast. 2.7s are bloody slow mind you haha. It’s only 260bhp in my S and all the power is top end. If...
This is a common misconception about convertables. There was a time where you'd be mad to sell ay any point other than summer, but now people look to buy in the winter to get a "Bargain".
Car has been up a week and a bit, had 4 people interested so far. And yeah, I'm not making any losses on it...
I may be mad, but I've put this up for sale last weekend. I'm not sure I want to sell it that badly, but I figured if summers over and someone else wants it (and I dont lose any money) then I'm happy to let it go.
Question is what next? Enjoyed a track day in the Boxster, so I may have to get...
Thanks all! Don’t get out with the camera much but had no excuse yesterday lol
Indeed it is! One of the only YouTube channels I’ve watched over the years, top bloke.
Yeah it’s Bicester heritage. Quite lucky to have it on my doorstep!

A US based outfit doing awesome meet ups with air cooled Porsches decided to have their first UK event across the road from my flat, which was nice. I wandered over, got soaked, took some pics.

Yeah, it being the facelift and the spec it is sure helps it a lot I think. Pre facelift had more bubbly bumpers, amber lights and usually smaller wheels too.
Many thanks!
Yeah, I can imagine the 2.5/2.7's are dog slow as well. Maybe I'm wrong! To be fair with the chassis it has, I imagine...
It really is! I was looking at getting a 996, but I wouldnt have much change out of the £18k I got for the M3.
Mines a facelift so has 265bhp, its not too bad. Coming from 400bhp mentalist car, its obviously feeling slower. I'm always wringing its neck, lovely gearbox and the engine hits a...
A few weeks back I decided to sell the M3. I absolutely loved it, and it was such a mint example. However, it wasnt being used enough and it was a lot of money to have sat there.
So I sold it last Saturday. And on Sunday, I went and got this. So much for not replacing it...

Since then, I've fitted new reproduction bumpers and arches. They arent quite sitting right due to crusty 30 year old brackets breaking, and repro...
G'Day all. Thanks for sharing that in here, was about to do the same!
Buy a good one, fear gone. In my case I went for an approved used, Warranty is great.
Touch wood, mines been flawless in that respect. It's as solid as you'd expect, and been flawless in engine reliability.
The truth is...
Well, updates on this thing.
Managed to get a new exhaust on it, was pretty proud I did this on my todd as some of it was a nightmare to get off! Sounds and looks a lot tidier now too

I also fixed the buggered up GTI badge.
