Any idea why the previous owner is getting rid of it after only 5 weeks? To be fair it still looks mint. Maybe current owner just had a change of mind and wants a track toy.
Chapperz owned it for just over 2 years.
Chris owned it from middle/late January (of this year) to now?
Look like they have the non-cup-pack ABS rings on them.
I suspect a trader will be able to confirm that these are therefore 172/regular-182 chafts which will therefore not fit your "182 FF" that is stated under your avatar.
Have you been driving a wheel barrow around previously?!?!
Apex springs & standard shocks are one of the worst known combinations in terms of dealing with bumps. To be realistic though with McPherson strut suspension pretty much the biggest improvement you can make for the least money is to...
Probably a cracked ABS ring. Take wheels off and inspect with a torch.
Common problem on Clios & symptoms (including lack of lights on dash) exactly as described. To double check pull the ABS fuse out (fusebox on side of dash by passenger door.) Don't go round slamming the brakes on as you'll...
I notice a few traders on here have been pulling cambelt covers off and check timing for quite a few customers - roughly how long does this take/hence how much?
I'm still rocking the Coolermaster Extreme Power Duo. PC constantly sounds like it's about to master vertical take off & landing.
THE loudest PSU known to mankind IIRC.
But then decent quality power delivery > noise. But yeah should've spent a few £ more.
You're right, it's been asked a million times :p I bet you've got the gist of the average response though - "RS Clios are already fettled a lot from the factory to make standard power, so buy another car or be prepared to spend £1000 per 10 BHP" etc.
RS tuner generic remap (it's a little...
It's normal. Think about it.
Renault could install different looms into every single Clio based on every single combination of optional extras for a significant increase in manufacturing complexity and cost, or they could fit the same loom to every car and be done with it.
As for why is...
No.
Being pedantic, could you get a C-spanner on a spring platform just by steering all the way to the left or right? Probably. Would it be a massive pain and take ages? Yes. Far easier (and probably quicker) to jack it up and take wheels off.
Less relevant now that you've purchased it perhaps but:
* Stainless exhaust is only a good thing as long as it's not too loud - aftermarket exhausts are a necessity not a choice as the standard mild steel items all fell to bits years & years ago.
* Matched inlets - definitely a good idea for a...
If you've had a look and there's nothing obvious, why not pay a few pounds (£30 max) to get an alignment done inc. print out.
Best case scenario you'll have dodgy toe settings and that'll be £30 problem solved. Medium case scenario it'll be something else, but at least you'll have a printout...
That reads as though you've had "odd" handling for 2 years before looking into this?
Depending on state of top mounts & wishbone bushes etc. camber on a 10 year old Clio seems to be anywhere from positive to about -1.5deg
According to the long lost Fubar guides factory tolerances on a Ph2 172...
As per above - with the addition that Ph2 seats have white Renaultsport logo, Ph1 are tri-coloured.
The blue/black leather is noticeable in person, but it's a bit more difficult to tell in pictures as you can blame poor light over-zealous flash etc.
If you've got some 1200 wet & dry, paint, lacquer & a little time spare then just buy the sticker from Andy @ N2X (or is it Ady? Sorry, I forget!) on here. Less than £3 posted or something trivial like that for a DIY refurb.

Stop messing around and just buy them from Renault Wolverhampton lol! 0844 558 8799. Only speak to Adam Greenhouse.
Wolverhampton is the UK distribution centre that sells stock to dealerships, garages, random ebay traders etc. You simply are not going to get OEM bits...
OEM discs were Renault's own rears and Brembo fronts as far as I know from a few years of reading CS :p OEM pads are Brembo all round. It's the bearings to watch out for though.
Adam @ Wolverhampton is the UK distribution centre that sends stock to dealerships, garages, random ebay traders...
There are an alarming number of people on here who have had non-OEM bearings fail after only a few months.
Adam @ Renault Wolverhampton does a pair of discs including pads, ABS rings and bearings pre-fitted for £100 give or take a few pounds. It's about £90 if you don't want the pads.
Even...
I got mine from here. Only because they were the only place that seemed to do the wider cup version that I needed.
The non cup one looks a bit expensive compared to what's been said about ebay prices (though I've had a quick look and can't find any [I/]front[/I] ABS rings for less than £10.) I...
Yes.
That size crack often doesn't bring up an ABS fault, but you will feel the ABS kicking in very lightly at very low speed (e.g. braking will be fine down to say 10 mph and then the pedal will have the classic ABS feel)
TBH I would have thought you'd have noticed this happening...
I think everyone is being overly critical.
I mean think of some of the ridiculous stuff you've seen on CS over the years & be glad it wasn't produced by them.
Correct about being different hubs.
New:
If anyone has them in stock it'll be Adam @ Renault Wolverhampton (main UK parts distribution warehouse or something similar). Outstanding customer service & Clio parts knowledge. Cheapest price you'll find OEM items. Have had plenty of bits delivered...
BG Motorsport are at Silverstone and come highly recommended from pretty much everyone who's used them. There are ever so slightly cheaper places, but apparently BG Motorsport offer one of the quickest turn around and include damper balancing on a dyno.
Needless to say cost can vary a lot as...
Black Gold looks fantastic when freshly cleaned! Park it next to a non-Renaultsport "Pearl Black" Clio of the same era and you'll really notice the extra something.
Developed a wish list yet? A 172/182 cup spoiler would finish that off nicely but if it's a daily maybe put money towards some...
