Fitted Gaz top mounts frommy 182 to my ph1 earlier and something isn't right..
The oe mounts sat flush and with same thread at the top, clearly not the same with the Gaz ones..
They say fine on my 182.
Any suggestions before I pull it all apart again? My mate removed oe top mounts from my Ph1...
Added some gel type side stickers, old Renaultsport type
Was at my mates garage earlier tonight to have new fuel filter, oil and filter change.
Also added a can of BG44K to the fuel tank to clean the fuel system and injectors prior to next weeks rolling road and remap at Engine Dynamics.
I hope so with the current l matte grey sunstrip and dark wind deflectors.
Unsure if to refurb the wheels silver or Anthracite
Mine Doesn't have the aluminium bonnet sadly. The carbon fibre one is considerably lighter, will check exactly difference soon.
Simply did it to get rid of that drone, I have never been in or owned a car that loud and I've had some stupid ones including a v10 R8 and a straight piped b18c Civic.
Way better now!
182 manifold. What a pain to wrap and fit.. But looks good back there where no one can see it..
More grunt low down, possibly less up top and less 5k kick. The 172 manifold was quiter and more rev friendly but I prefer the 182. Remap should make it worth it.
Ignore the skanky bulkhead...
Headlights!
I like the old skool look so went with yellow tinted fogs,
Yellow side lights
Yellow full beam.
My dipped beam is still a very bright white xenon conversion
Engine -
Rs lower inlet
Red Magnecor leads
Ph1 airbox, ITG filter, 2x 70mm caf
182 exhaust manifold & ktec decat link pipe, both heatwrapped. Pic of this later!
Off to Engine Dynamics on Monday for a remap, can't wait.
Interior
Has a ph2 dash already which is a nice touch.
I then fitted my
BMS SHIFTER
1X Cobreau Dfx, gf doesn't like sitting in one passenger side. I hardly have a passenger but hey, gotta keep em happy. I rather matching seats..
Very comfortable, low enough and very supportive.
Also fitted...
Update!
Firstly, this car is fun! My last few hot hatches were good little cars with the occasional exciting moment. This has reminded me why I like small cars with a bit of poke and a good chassis.
Plan was to keep it fairly o.e but that idea went out the window when good bits came off my...
So I've had my ph1 for about a month now and I'm really enjoying it.
I'm not new to Rs ownership, 3 172 Cups, 3 182 and a 200.
Can't really compare the 200,that was a fantastic car but the ph1 wins hands down out of the 172/182 for solid feel and fun factor
Feels better built, more solid...
I wanted the stealth look but the noise was unbearable. It directed the noise down at the road and right back up into the car, total nightmare on motorway. This is as subtle as I could get and difference in noise is night & day.
We have a winner
Had a 2.25 inch pipe welded on. It sticks out by less than an inch, sits perfectly in a small recess and has made a MASSIVE difference.
No drome, none of that headache inducing resonance, night and day. Bit of rasp around 3k and more after 5, so much quieter inside the car...
