I never had problems with my cup cylinder and 225 Brembos, the pedal actually improved from the single piston calliper IMO, the brakes would bite nearer the top and it was easier to modulate.
Aye sure, send the 3k to my Cayman island account and deliver the car Monday ;)
Cheers Chi, I see you have sold and bought another. Trading up for more power?
Cheers. Yeah they suit red with the callipers and rear lights etc. Its been far too long since I had a red car, its nice to polish them as your hard work really shows up.
Cheers Jamie, anywhere mainstream where I could pick that up tomorrow? Or is any of the meguires stuff good that I could pick up from halfrauds.
The mirror caps are fiddly, if you pop of the mirror glass with a screwdriver then use a pick to pop all the 5 clips beginning with the one closest...
Started the day off like this, I checked all the ball joints, drop links, torque links, inner and outer track rods and everything seems to be good so that's a bonus.
I then removed the pads finally after having some trouble with the pins.
The pins finally came out a bit worse for wear...
Its between the notches, don't worry a f**k until it goes below the minimum. Your going to change it in the mater of days and by the sounds of it, the money from that 1 litre of oil could be better spent somewhere else.
I know, that's what I keep thinking. It literally has none of the common problems and I want to do a track day in it before it goes. Playing with fire I thinks.....
Will give that a shot tomorrow mate, what does the starter relay look like (colour and size wise)?
The starter solenoid is the little barrel attached to the starter itself. The main power terminal on the starter is an 8mm thread (13 mm nut) and a small terminal on the solenoid. Bridge out...
Try the starter relay, listen to see if its switching while you go to start it. A good test is bridge out the positive and the solenoid on the starter with a screwdriver and it should turn over. Then have the ignition on, if it turns over its a starting system wiring fault, if it doesn't it will...
I started doing some of the jobs today with the parts I have.
I removed the awful reg plates that were on and swapped them out for some custom fancy plates. I polished behind the recesses in preparation for its detail later in the week.
Rear
Front
Looking much fresher already.
Before...
Cheers, still to do most of it though.
Nothing the mater with it as it meets the SAE/ACEA standards. I'm not saying I would put it in my track car or use it as long service oil but its a fully synthetic oil and more than up to the job.
For ref I usually use ester based oils but this was 1p...
Well I thought I'd start a little progress thread to document the ongoings of my newly acquired R26 prior to its sale.
I got the car just over a month ago in a swap deal for my old ITB'd cup. I never/don't plan/ed to keep the car myself although I would like to bring the service history up to...
^^ Other than the doubler plates where the ball joints bolt to.
Tom at the very least I would box in the rear lower shock mount point as it now has the full weight of the car hanging on a bolt rather than just the shocker.
^^^ Aaaannd DS2500 and 3000 are rubbish IMO. They both leave deposits on the discs which give the sense of warped discs, you need to skim the discs to clear it.
For DS2500-3000 money you'll get much better pads that aren't even carbon metallic I.e won't ruin your body and wheel paint.
That's me payed up, I hadn't seen this thread until I got a PM.
Has everyone been PM'd just to remind them?
And also what date was finalised on without scrolling through the 7 pages?
The coilovers your looking for used to be produced in collaboration with yozza sport who have since ceased but Fred @BTM could procure you a set from Bilstein. Your looking at circa 3k for them though.
Maybe your meaning different coilovers and I wouldn't personally use trophy Sachs on a...
