Good choice on the Civic, they're a dream to work on from the clio's. You just drop everything on the subframe upfront, its ideal and cheap to tune too.
Have you got big plans for the suspension with adjustable arms etc?
Check the front right wheel bearings for play, top mounts and for any damage to the the subframe, wishbones or hubs.
I'm not quite sure how to read that schematic, but you either have the camber or the caster out on one side. The readouts aren't conclusive for me as to which is which.
I'm not saying the compound isn't great mate, its the pick up issues that I have known everyone to have which renders them useless in 'most' cases.
The ref to not being competitive was more to do with how hard the car is driven than the statement itself.
No mate, I have had ds2500 in both standard and Brembo callipers and had this issue both times.... I don't think they like being stopped hard from high speed for hairpins and such like. The 3000's I have also heard of bother with. The real proof is you'll never see a set of 2500 or 3000's on a...
Its your pads causing it, ds2500 are infamous for it. The disks basically need a skim after they have left the deposits.... It can be improved with driving but can't be made perfect.
Mine doesn't Nick, it was one of the initial kits from the group buy. Any roads it doesn't bother me as its for my race car, I was just commenting on places I could see improvement from my version. The plastic gearknob is another point I noticed it contacted, maybe a larger ID on the knob would...
Silly boy ;)
The bottle will probably never come back to clear again but while your doing it, stick it through a dishwasher or put in some denture cleaning tabs. Also pull the top and bottom radiator hoses and flush water from the harden hose through the top radiator hose around the engine and...
Looks like rust to me Liam, I did tell you to change the coolant when I sold you it in our WA convo's...... I only put water in it initially to check for leaks and a track day and never got around to changing it.
Anti freeze has corrosion inhibitors in it. Drain the coolant and get some type d...
Its the reverse lock sleeve that rattles against the gearstick. You want the reverse lock sleeve machined internally for an o-ring top and bottom and a rubber washer put on the bottom of the sleeve to stop them contacting each other. Hold the reverse lock sleeve while driving and it won't do it...
Is that a sky HD box you are saying? The girlfriend has BT infinity with vision and is in a pretty poor area for reception, she only gets certain channels.
Not sure tbh, that's what they told me when I enquired. I was going to research a bit more before I run mines.
Edit: Reading that page its basically saying use an oil that suits the original gear train I.e synchros etc with a minimum gl5 rating.
I thought that was the keyless entry sensors that was done LiamR172? I don't think the regulator was totally goosed as it worked at times, I just didn't have the chance to take it apart for a look in the end.
I made enough mate and I enjoyed the car for the 1500 miles I had it... nothing on a...
Yeah I had the carpet up when I cleaned the interior, I couldn't find nothing or didn't hear anything other than once when I got it. The new owner might find it though.
I sold it this afternoon. It failed its MOT on Monday for a broken spring and Sod's law the window regulator started to play...
Yeah they weren't good for me, it was an orange I got haha, I'm colour blind and noticed it.
Rule of thumb is to have your best tyres on the driven wheels. The rear doesn't need as much grip as the front on FWD.
Amazing the change it does, its just hand oils rather than polished up.
The paint I used for the slam panel was from eBay and quite good, It's not listed anymore but it was just a custom mix with lacquer pack.
Nightmare about the tyre bead. Parada's is what I meant...... proxes have an...
Looks good..... Have to say it does look miles better with a stealth on. Wheel will need a constant going over too but it came up well when I done it with the same method.
Get the bonnet sound deadening back on or get a tin of Mondial thrown over it.... Looks rough as ;).
And is that proxes I...
Very nice indeed. Where did you pass the loom through the upper bulkhead and did you retain the multi plug into the cabin?
For the air filter I would just build a small box and run a straight pipe a la cup racers. From what I have seen some length on the inlet trunk is better for power.
No I haven't heard anything tbh or found anything. What I did do was put sticky back foam on the passenger seat clasp, they seem to have missed it at factory as the drivers has it already and that stopped what sounded like a very loud rattle/noise.
You will be alright to paint the caliper carrier in hamerite, it will just fall off the actual stub axle itself but who's going to see ;).
The bearing face is the part that has the spacer and the nut screwed on the end, emery it up if its showing signs of water ingress.
I have decided to put it up for more, everyone I spoke to said I would be nuts to let it go for so low but I'm just looking for a quick sale really. Preferably before I go away with work next week.
