Martin,
if you are relocating your battery, you are likely to be using something like in the picture below.
if you need to jump start the car, you can simply connect the live jump lead to these terminals, and the earth lead to any earth point in the engine bay.
Wiring wise I'd say I am competent but going to that level I'd be a bit worried about getting it wrong, it could be a step to far for me.
did you do it all yourself or contract someone in for the task.
edit to add, what's the UCH?
i keep seeing it being mentioned a lot.
Hey all.
looking at the wiring loom plug on the side of the gearbox, is this purely forte reverse light indicator?
if so, considering removing this part from the engine harness as my interior car loom has already had the reverse light wiring removed anyhow.
cheers
I've had a bit of a search but all I seem to find is answers saying 'remove the fuse' and 'it won't pass an MOT'
neither of these answers are suitable, the car won't ever be MOT'd and I do want to remove the complete ABS setup.
I was just thinking, with the engine and box currently out of the...
I certainly follow how you mean Chip, its probably one of the lowest powered cars I've ever had as a track toy, its great on the twisties but I understand completely that an additional 30bhp won't change its straight line performance to an amazing level.
i still feel there is a lot to be fine...
That makes perfect sense, I wouldn't dream of putting anything less than a decent set of AP 6 pots on my old Escos.
i think Rainbirds initial pet hate with Wilwoods was from many a year back when they had little centre bracing an you could actually see the caliper flexing.
Most comfy I had were my old OMP Pista Carbon Kevlar seats.
i loved them but sold them on when I broke my Escos.
the bimarcos I now have seem pretty comfy, but so far I haven't sat in them for longer than 15-20 minutes at a time.
Had it on the misses car about a year ago, jacked it up and went over everything just to make sure nothing was loose.
the pinch bolt where the lower arm ball joint goes in to the hub wasn't quite tight, as I tried to tighten it I realised it wouldn't actually tighten up, as tho the thread was...
Wilwood 4 pots on mine aswell chip, as far as I am led to believe its the exact same kit as Lee's as he too me where to get them from for Kim's Black clio a couple of years back.
Hope all goes well at Combe then chip, and fingers crossed the brakes are sorted.
im picking up a replacement engine mid week, so I'd imagine by the end of next weekend it should be back to where it was and usable again.
at the prices I these engines, ill snap another up over the coming few...
I get what you mean, cheers both.
Dan SJM, how the heck do you seperate the drivers driveshaft from the ggearbox?
its out of the hub, its also go the centre support removed, but for the life of me I cannot get it out of the box.
Manifold is removed from head and dropped back so its sat against the bulkhead.
Its certainly clear from the engine.
just seems that there is only an inch if I'm lucky between the pulleys and chassis rail, I didn't think the engine would be able to move over to one side enough to lift out...
That's handy.
i was having trouble separating the drivers side driveshaft earlier so I assumed it may have been easier to leave the box in place.
i really thought it would be an easy task, took longer to remove the loom, Exh manifold and all pipework than I used to be able to get a Cossie...
Ah really, no way to hold the pulleys tight now as there is no cambelt anymore.
i know its optimistic, but peering in the inlet and exhaust ports the valves seem to look straight, and I half hope the head may have survived.
i know it probably hasn't, but I don't want to get too medievle with it...
How the fook do you get the rocker cover off?
all bolts are removed, it lifts about half an inch but won't go any further.
even the camshaft a look free, and I'd say even the pulleys, they lift about half inch but its then as if it purely won't go any further.
no bolts are missed, everything...
