The most easiest thing to use and do, effortless as normally a great finish.
ive done a couple of wheels in the past aswell as a few badges, always been happy with the finish.
With the engine now out, and 187k of road grime taking root around the engine bay, it was time to attack everything with the ste cleaner and plenty of degreaser.
its come up quite well.
and once everything was clean and a bit easier to work on, the standard steering rack, PAS pump, PAS...
Chris, the MK2 is up for sale, but i have no idea what I really fancy.
i have said I'd take a 197 in PX so I can give it to the misses, she's still got the same black 182 from all those years back when I met you at Oulton Park.
That much heavier than the factory PAS racks?
TBH, I can handle it if its a little heavier, it can't be far off a direct weight exchange by the time I've removed the reservoir, piping, and pump on the engine.
i really want to loose the power steering.
Cheers :)
the one listed in the picture by Phil, and Kat saying she can supply one for £33.50.
im assuming this will work fine on a Trophy, but will it mate together with my tie rods (steering arms) and track rod ends (end joints) ??
You seem to be the man with all of my answers of late ;)
is it purely as simple as your answer?
bolt it on, connect to the column, do away with the PAS fluid and pipework... And then use!?
I started to find it hard work reading the other thread that I gave up, sorry Phil.
can we fit a DCI rack to our existing column and just run it without any power steering atall, not even electric.
Took the bottom end apart yesterday eve, I'm really thinking it was the rod bolts that let go.
where the bearings would have been between the rods and crank, the crank is still spotless, smooth as I can possibly see, apart from a few burrs on the lobes between each bearing position on the crank...
If your happy to travel to Worthing in West Sussex then I have a good mate in our local RSOC group who does flocking, he's done my clio dash amongst many other bits for the local boys and he always gets great reviews.
im more than happy with his work even 10 months on.
failing that, Nikki who...
Nick, that's not a bad shout, keep me posted please buddy.
its not as if I'm shy about cutting the car about to make it fit ;)
must admit, I think I'd much rather the inlet housing in satin black than carbon, aiming to have zero carbon on this car... Or atleast that's how I'm aiming to keep it ;)
That's not overal so bad atall.
it may only be 194bhp but id imagine you have a nice working window of power to utilise rather than that just being a peak figure.
what torque have you hit, or if up for mind could you pop over a graph you have please.
cheers.
Sounds like a plan Chip, ill be keeping my eyes peeled.
lifted the block/box out of the car last night, a pretty effortless task actually.
i haven't fully inspected the damage but with a quick glance I was quite surprised to see that it had also cracked through the sump.
thinking logically its...
The solar panel trickle chargers are a handy bit of kit, I used to use one ony old jeep tow car.It was only used once a month and all to often when I went back to use it there would only be just enough power to unlock it to get in, the trickle charger just sat in the windscreen and could be...
I've noticed my rev limit being around 6600rpm, but when warm I've found it revs almost up to 8k.
saying that, I could have possibly found the reason as to why my conrod let go :(
