exactly! lol point i was looking for :o
Torque steer is overhyped massively. Can be a problem if you turn out of a junction and your wheel isnt straight but apart from that its barely there.
aye really unreliable things too. Mine has already had a new one before i bought it. Without knowing it can cause massive damage too :(
Noticed the torque steer much?
Love it! :D
note: if you keep it buy a Scangauge II. Will keep an eye on temps incase the charge cooler decides to give up. If it does and you dont realise, your fucked lol

Currently run AST adjustable top mounts set to max neg camber settings. This provides approx 2-2.2 neg camber. Without the use of camber bolts is there any other ways of increasing neg camber?
I had an idea of slightly longer bottom ball joints, would this be a possibility?

thats another thing...projects are good for selling cars too.
My road 172 was sold on here and gave the buyer a good idea of what had happened to the car and the amount of work that had gone into it.

Agreed with the previous posts. People think there car is a project when they change the alloys, add some silvervisions, paint an inlet and maybe change the suspension. This is NOT a project.
A project is about doing something unique, changing many different parts, a story (f0xys thread)...
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*

Noticed there was abit of play in the steering so investigated and found that the steering column was fucked. That has now been replaced. No pics im afraid.

Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*

gussets
cut away door
terrible pictures but you get the idea. The interior will be getting completely re-sprayed once all the work is done

Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Since it doesnt look like the engine will be done in time, i re-fitted the ITB's to the standard engine and got the car running. First time it has been moved for 5 months :O
So next week will include:
1. Fitting gussets to cage
2. remove excess...
these deals are cool.
Tom Tom are doing one for there Go series. If you buy a Tom Tom Go and england win the world cup. They will give you your money back.

Re: Cro's 5dr 182 now with ITB's :)
Good work Cro :D The engine bay looks epic and it has made very good power!
Im glad my knowledge and spreadsheet helped along the way ;)
Carl
if you want to strip it etc whats the point in buying a "good example" you might aswell buy a cheap tatty car with crap interior for peanuts, considering you'll be stripping it why does it matter if its a good example?
Aslong as the engine is fine and had a recent cambelt change it will be...
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
trust me, ive been on the phone plenty.
Its not so much the engine builders fault, more his very very slow machine shop.

Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
yeah didnt expect an engine to take 4 months to get built...
once i get the engine back it will take a couple of weeks to get everything sorted then down to TDF for wiring/running in/map
