If you have shed loads of money then youd get Demon Tweeks to cut them down to just above the wear makers, you'll get a few test laps to heat cycle them and then one days racing,
Anyone fancy sponsoring me???????????????????
The scruitineers will check that your tyres are above the legal wear markers on the tyre before the meeting,, Sometimes this is checked and others it isnt, Aint worth cheating though!!!!!
The annoyance was that qually was wet and he got pole, and the last race was wet and won,
If the rules were relaxed for this meeting then it should of been made quite clear, even if you couldnt of afforded another set of tyres, the option would be there, as the rules were not relaxed and we...
So how does that work? Do you just wait till someone crashes out of the first trace and is unable to fix the car for the rest of the meeting, and how much do you pay, Pro rata?
I double dare you to say "Rice burners" on Sunday Sonny, lol, I'm sure Pete will wanna see what happens too!
I've had to seperate Paul and James in the tent as they are like two adelesant school boys on Xmas Eve.
I'm really looking forward to this one,
Looking at the line up for our class and the fact that I have completed my first race with no damage or mechanical faults,, I shall be going for some silver ware!,

Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
I think we should stop worrying Sonny, lol
But sometimes just getting to the venue with a car ready deserves a trophy. I kind of forgot about all this, it has been 12 years since last racing
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
I've not needed to do anything on the car since Oulton other than a nut and bolt check, but I bet when I get it out of the garage Friday something breaks!!!!!
The night before my first test day I forgot to strap the car on the trailer and the car rolled...

FYI
Below is a pic of how I measured the end float, fit mainshaft into casing with out shim, lift mainshaft with pliers and adjust measuremnt plate so it touches the end of the mainshaft, Drop the mainshaft and measure the gap with feeler gauges, repeat five times, make a note of all...
Its ok to swap Crown wheel and pinion into another casing but I would not mix a crown wheel with a pinion from another box.
The JC5 box is probably most complex selector wise, Everything else is pretty much standard engineering through manufacturers.
Main shaft is the one fith gear bolts...
Yes, it's 50mm, you'll need a deep socket and may need to grind the outside of the socket down to slip into the recess,
When building mine, it's not the diff that's the issue as its not sandwiched between the casings, it just sits it the bearing, just make sure to torque setting is right.
The...
Preach away Peter, lol
I think the issue with lodge was that the exit is blind and I was turning in too early. As you say Peter. But every time I came round it felt like going deep would leave the door wide open.
The natural corners come easy. And this I think showed at old hall, cascades and...
I'd never driven Oulton Andy and had only done 15 laps before the actual race, I hadnt planned on getting hooked up with anyone and having a clean race but the red mist gets you.
What you dont see in the video is how close behind the Civic is, However, even with those poor lines and driving...
