Shocked to see it back on the road after someone drove into it whilst parked... !
Noticed the spoiler is also missing now. Believe the owner was on here?
Full fat 182 for less than a grand.. bonkers the prices these are now.
But it won't be a Cup (which in 182 form isn't such a bad thing) FF means both Cup packs, not a Cup model, have a search on here, there is books of information to take in.
Enjoy it
Agree...
It seems the days of breaking these for bits and making a nice profit are gone.
Bumpers were £100 bare, now £20 for a complete one!
Xenons have halfed to £40-£50
Interior is worth nothing and often given away
I remember Recaro's selling for £1,000 - £1,200 and are now £500-£600...
No it isn't mine thankfully, saw it on here recently.
The fan takes a while to kick in but I assume you've been watching the gauge and not letting it overheat? Unless your CTS is on the blink
File opened for me @STEVE.M
@Sebastian Price you just need to go into your file explorer on your phone / computer and unzip and the file. Should do it on it's own accord
Anyway engine sounds fine to me, could be worse ...
Could be exhaust / heat shield if it's directly under the gear stick as I had it once and it was loud.
Did you pull the engine forward on the top drivers mount?
Check the mounts again if you've recently fitted them, were they torqued correctly?
Have you got J&R driveshafts? Lol
Sorry just being a forum idiot lol..
Potentially STEVE, mine were in late 2016 but then again it could be down to everyone's different setups. I have some new engine mounts to fit soon so it will be interesting to see if mine starts playing up. I have the original shafts sat in the garage which...
Love both of your vans massively. Looks so good on the 2118's in white.
Interestingly I bought a set of spare xenons off a guy breaking a 172, and when I turned up I realised why he was breaking it, to create this..
Quite liked it but felt weird it sounding the same as my Cup lol
Sounds like a bag of spanners!
Where's the inlet bolts / aux belt?!
Has it ever been washed? The bonnet !
EDIT: Just seen you've disconnected the belt. Probably easier to just throw another engine in it
In my last photo, underneath where I've greased (the nut thread and the splines the wiper sits on) you can see the gold circlip. Scroll up and you'll see it missing on the first photo.
Yeah I believe they are all the same mate.
Worth doing @Darren S , will help eliminate any squeals etc too in the future.
If you haven't touched it, then it will be the circlip mate. As I said try pulling the smaller one (on the right side in your picture) and I bet it moves in and out, certainly looks lower from the picture.
A...
Here's mine.
With 70mm thread, and on 40 profile tyres, I was catching my old Skoda splitter too much and also the exhaust... I will be raising it a bit as it doesn't drive that well either.
The rear's have the adjusters all the way down, and still doesn't sit as low as it did with H&R...
Buy or borrow one of these:

Will get the arms off safely and without any hassle, without this it can potentially be...
This was the only tool that shifted mine the first time around
When everything is dry and cleaned up, this can be used properly and you can get it super tight and off in no time. I was almost using this like a ratchet the first time lol, ridiculous what some people get up to!
Easiest and...
Jubilee won't be upto the job..
Didn't you buy some new J&R shafts? Has it failed? It's and important area to ensure is sealed... without it you could easily drop your gearbox oil.
New shaft or remove yours and clean it thoroughly and use a proper clip with a press tool like I had to once upon...
Yep. If it's been sat for a while check the plugs and leads, could of got water in and corroded etc. Start with them and go from there, don't start pulling everything apart, rule it all out separately.
If not as bloke said, Fusebox issues maybe
172 cup fine
172 182 Cup Trophy etc. Fine on passenger side. Pages upon pages of problems drivers side. Then there's ABS ring confusion etc but think this was a one off as usually they send two sizes of ABS rings
Hello mate
I didn't have any issues at all. The only people that seem to run into problems is the non 172 Cup's with the drivers shaft rubbing on the block. Hundreds of threads on here about shafts and J&R
Quarter of the price of genuine ones if you can find a set
It's possible if you say the fluid went everywhere but not sure that's the issue.
I would recommend swapping that PS pipe... From the picture it looks like the low pressure one but still wouldn't like to rely on liquid metal mate.
If it's just when pulling away maybe the cables knackered and...
I was going to suggest the clutch cable until I read about the PS Fluid, that wouldn't of done it any good mate. Coolant is bad enough sometimes. Did you have a leak and if so where from?
What clutch did you replace it with in October?
