What's a molten exhaust lol?
Bet it looks great in the flesh. I would renew the N/S fog lamp, ditch the Clio stick on the rear window?!, get a genuine/replica of the Cup splitter itself and just go from there or leave it and keep it well looked after mate.
Also the sill kick plates missing...
To add to this @STEVE.M my 172 Cup passenger shaft didn't have the big weight on like other 1*2's have. I order a genuine used item off a normal 172 thinking it would be the same but one with the weight arrived.
Unsure which is right or wrong but I seemed to believe from looking at other owners...
Where from m9
Ok fair enough your allowed to play that card now lol
As for J&R shafts... had no issues.. wish we could make a sticky about this. Been covered so many times now and @STEVE.M needs a break lol
Bang on!
I'm thinking Sprayshack smoothed bullets in anthracite 205-110 colour with LY writing? Would tie in with the wheels and break it up a bit?
Oh... your number plates wrong ;)
No justification on the purchase is needed with it looking that good mate.. LY on a 182 is really something special.
The only thing I would say is I should of sold you mine... so I could buy the LY and not be jealous of it :( lol
Lovely car... !
The Sport's all have the 'soft touch' plastics which overtime turn sticky and degrade similar to the steering wheel etc.
The non sport's have not soft touch plastics which last and don't mark as easy but don't give the same look or feel as new soft touch ones.
Liking where this is going :)
One thing though... The hazard switch plastic trim looks like its been replaced with a non sport (non sticky) variant and now doesn't match the OE stereo. Given the work so far, I have no doubt you'll change it, ha !
Shoulda woulda coulda lol
They did well with all the colours imo
Back on topic - @Mbeau time for a new coolant expansion tank and perhaps a silver themed engine bay?
Perhaps it should of read 'were sold'
At a guess maybe the blue was a bit more special at the time, with the coloured dash bits etc and a more in your face / 'obvious choice' 15 years ago?
But non Cup Icebergs do absolutely nothing for me personally lol
Nice to see one being looked after. Most Cups (Blue) are pulled to bits and thrashed to death these days :(
I think Renault Sport claimed 90 Iceberg Cups were made, 30 of them with Climate/AC
You'll find it's a soft touch plastic thing. Great when new... terrible once worn. Every make and model I've had with soft touch just turns to s**t in time.
@Davyy you could get a lower spec dash top, maybe a stereo upgrade or just go OE budget lower model stereo and then replace the climate...
You are still getting over your PTSD from the conversion I think mate lol
I would try and leave it as a distant memory and just enjoy it now. If there's one thing I have learned it's that dirty cars are faster. The less time I spend cleaning mine the more fun it seems to be... but then I can't...
So much want for a William's 😧
Was offered my friends really nice one with some cams and it was in great original looking condition for £3,000 in 2008 and said it was too expensive... MORON !
They are awesome
