It's not just upping oil thickness I'm after just increasing pressure. It's a very common mod on competition engines, rough rule is 10psi per 1k revs. So if your engine runs to 8k then 80psi oil pressure should be the target at those revs. Oil change won't get you there. That's what my current...
Do they do one for an F4R oil pump? Have one for my f7r engine and ups the hot oil pressure on this 1-2 bar when hot. Seen a few comp engines on here and they run 3 bar when hot which I think is too low.
interesting as that's how I would describe it to. Is like the rear mid corner wants to turn the corner more but you haven't put more lock on? Like active steering.
interested if locking the bearings does make a change or its exactly the same, come on ash hurry up ;-)
Will be interesting if this cures the strange handling when he fits new bearings. Mine feels as if it rear steers but its got too much toe in at the rear 6mm so will see what its like when I shim it parallel.
Rear bearing beam should make it more neutral not more lively. Std beam bush would promote a bit of dynamic toe out so lively where solid beam shouldnt.
This is the concern.
So im clear is it moving up and down (so bearing diameter is smaller and the bush dia) rather than side to side moving (between the bush shoulder and the circlip)?
Im concerned aswell as first drive of mine with Reigers wasnt great and rear end was very very lively. Im wondering if it's play in the PMS beam set up as it felt like it was rear wheel steering.! Geometry all OK and quite a bit of toe in and quite a soft rear end would all point to an...
If something breaks..$$$$ plus can you get spares? That the reason i didnt go for it. Would make a stonking engine though and at the price worth a punt i guess.
Gutted the cars not ready was looking forward to having a good look over it. Im going to probably convert mine to RHD so need a check...
Funny enough i do have a 240hp F7R engine and an 230bhp F4R one, in sister cars so i can swap stuff when needed
:-)
Just wanted put the F7R in as the engine is out and the F4R is in the other car.
Pendragon is earliest next event now...
Well its an engine week.! After a full top end rebuild for F7R engine (after 3 season without a single issues 240bhp and rev to 8k all day every event) for its last event in the pink car we decided to put some new shell in whilst the engine was out and goes in the new car. But we notice quite a...
Bugger not good news at all.....Glad i have decided to put the F7R engine in mine now (ran 3 season no issues) as the F7s seem to have lots of issues. Will keep the F7R one in the reccie car.
Ian need to pick your brains on some other stuff will PM. Hopefully when mine is running we can share...
