You need either the jc5 129 or jc5 089 the 129 is the box from the 172 cup the 089 is from the PH 172 both these have the speedo drive. all other 172/182's use the jc5 130 and these will fit and work but they don't have the speedo drive so you won't have a speedo.

Yeah they just mean the edges on the pad where they sit in the calliper, it's basically to help them move freely and to help prevent squealing. Just take the edges off slightly with a file.

Yeah mine had to be pressed out too once the circlip was removed.

You could do that but I'd still prefer to use the ones that come in the kit, which I'm sure are the nylon type. Each to their own I guess.

How did you know it had 200 and something brake?

I don't think they get anywhere near hot enough to effect the nylon. From my experience I'd much prefer to use a nut with the nylon bit, nuts without will come looser a lot quicker and easier due to the heat changing all the time and the vibration and no nylon to hold it in place. Im pretty...
