Doubt if it will be going anywhere soon after today. New TDC sensor and loom fitted today and worked fine at the garage, collected it, drove it home and bingo, failed to start, same old problem. Left it for an hour, went back and it started first time. Ran it up to temp, switched it off. Went to...
Frustration levels are really high at the moment. My PH1 has had starting issues for some time now but were sporadic. Over the last two weeks it has become consistent. When the car was warm it would not restart. Key in ignition, turn to start nothing happens. no whirring, no clicking, couple of...
Finally the subframes arrived today and I did a dry fit tonight to make sure that it all went together well.
Not half as high as I thought it would be. Won't be able to fit it all until next weekend after surrey rolling road. Can't wait to complete the interior.
I'm going to Le Mans and gutted that I'll miss CSS, although three years in three different cars would have been an achievement. I'll see you at Surrey Rolling Road, Mark.
If only people weren't so forgetful I would have one. :rasp:
Would be good to catch up mate, what plans have you got for...
Its a real shame as I love Duxford. The museum is amazing and the hangers are usually open so you can see some of the restorations and repairs. When you see a Merlin engine in a Spitfire you realise what great engineers we had at the time. I will be with the Le Mans crew.
Cheers Russ its on about 114,000 miles so still running in. My son is going to see if he can order the parts through work but thanks for the offer.
Cheers Tim, I've got my Tim on the case tomorrow and he knows to get the loom. Do you know if we need a wiring diagram or is it fairly self...
Like everyone else in total shock that you bought a Clio. But then again we all come back to the fold eventually. Expect to see it detailed to the max.
Right finally sorted out my Flickr account and posted pics up on there.
Paul, cheers mate, I've got a fog lamp for you.
Daniel you're cool now, at my age you'll be sub zero.
Fletch, I've only just ordered the coilies. Should be here end of next week.
As in first post strippage started on...
Been on CS for a few years now and started with a titanium 182 which was slightly modded but remained my everyday runner. Then I was seduced by a Liquid Yellow R27 and the 182 went before it was completely finished. Last year my circumstances changed and the 197 had to go to suit my work...
My son and his girlfriend went last year but more as a lifestyle thing than motor racing. Would be well up for this, as I remember seeing Minis hunting down Ford Galaxies at Brands Hatch when I was a kid, shall I just wear my normal clothes then?
Looks good Nick and hope to see it in the near future. Can understand why you want to bide your time before going racing. Getting the budget right is so important as much as getting the car right.
You might need Cobra subframes low and then you might need a pair of brackets to mount the side mounts to. As Daniel said check with Demon Tweeks or Larkspeed who were cheaper.
Hope you've all had a great day. Writing this now with my Christmas present a Kindle Fire HD. Didn' t think it would be as good as it is. Happy rest of Christmas and have a great new year.
Looking good and I know I need to do something with mine soon as they are so tatty. I'm thinking of getting mine flocked just need to choose the colour. Silver, black or to match the colour of the cage and wheels.
