@20vKarlos Do you really think you need ds2500 for the rear?
I have got a bios valve in mine so run a bit more rear brakes and still only use standard brembo rear pads
The ds1.11 front pads are great though
I need to change the roll cage now so I will sort all that first.
Wife still wants me to sell it but I would like to do Wigan again as they are fun rallies but if I can sort a budget, I would really love to do the Tour of Mull in October.
We shall see.
His name is Russell Thorpe and he still competes in Doris. It has just had a new inlet made for it and is going on bike carbs
He's trying to get his class record back at Wigan after I took it off him in the Clio
I bought the Safety Devices cage as I was in a car that tested one to the max when I used to codrive in the 205 Challenge..........
It was scrap after that
@SafetyDevicesDaniel
This is excellent news.
Yes it will cost me a bit of time, and a bit more welding but that is far better than having to take the brunt of buying another cage too.
Thank you Aeron (and Daniel) @SafetyDevicesDaniel , I will be in contact with my details as soon as possible.
Popped to my mates earlier who has a goal rally car (cage fitted last year and logbooked), and a Polo (just built and logbooked last week) both of which have dash dodgers that come down like the clio ones, only difference being is that are a bit closer to the A pillar.
Surely this issue (if...
Agreed. MSA don't help either though.
£800 cage, 12 months ago fitted, car 7 months finished build, 4 events inc international event and now I can't fecking compete in it again unless I strip the car out and replace the whole cage!! It certainly won't be another SD one.
Emailed my scrutineer and he said as long as I have paperwork, there shouldn't be an issue.
Not sure what paperwork he means, as I just remember it just having the sticker like the above photo
Have a look for a local motor club and pop there, quite often people would love to have help on events.
Britishrally.co.uk also has a section where people can offer services etc
Sprints and hillclimbs is also something to look into to help out etc, not just race and rally
Had a chat with AA bloke and Transporters are uncomfortable and break down more often than others.
Vivaro/trafic/primastar are good all rounders.
Transits are most reliable apparently but crap on fuel etc.
I currently have to sometimes drive a new shape Trafic and it drives very well, is nippy...
It will be bit of a reluctant sale but in all fairness I did build it knowing I would be selling it at some point after I had done the Manx.
It would be nice to do some more events in it this year. We shall see.
(Anyone want to advertise on a Clio stage rally car pm me lol)
