This thing is still being a pain in the arse.
Every week, another new issue.
Idle is still all over the place.
New idle control valve arrived today, gotta get that fitted and pay @MicKPM a visit to set it up correctly.
Rear brakes still knocking, I'm just gonna bang new discs and pads on as...
I mixed up my words, didn't mean those sliders.
The bits the pads sit on, whatever they're called.
Not the bits the caliper moves on.
Anyway, raised the fronts a touch
Dropped it a tiny bit after this when I fitted these..
Re-did the alignment at work today and it's spot on now.
Can...
Cheers guys
Trying to love it, but its doing nothing but pissing me off atm haha.
Need to raise the front as it's scrubbing the inner arch on most turns
Brakes are still making a noise after stripping, cleaning, copper grease on sliders, rebuilding.
Yesterday the idle started playing up, if...
Did the tracking at work Monday night
Front's are catching the inner arch whenever I turn sharp, think I need to bring it up a touch tbh.
Couple of pics of how it is now:
Rear passenger brake is also making a clicking/knocking noise to which I cannot figure out why. Took it all apart...
So glad the weather was sick today, normally it rains when I want to do stuff
Anyway, I did stuff
Started off like this..
Took some stuff off
Fucked this stuff off after seeing @Dr Jekyll without them
Added some new shiny stuff
More shiny stuff
Then after even more stuff, it...
Yeah, I cant remember exactly what I paid for mine, but I know it was less than they were new and powder coated in whatever colour I wanted.
Fitting um this weekend
After a quick google they seem to be about £135 a corner new in white.
They're of a good quality it seems, just annoying that they don't fit the original holes in the pedals.
I managed to make them work using one original hole and drilling another hole. Would have just been better if they were a simple bolt on affair than having to drill new holes.
Wheels are Sparco Terra (made by OZ) 16x7
Gone with 205/45/16 Falken's on them. Was so difficult making the choice on tyres, kinda just went with what the boys at work with run, and rate for the price.
Did a few bits today, Fitted rear axle spacers, cup spoiler and some cool little lock...
Off topic but...
The for sale thread for your Identity bike just came up in 'similar threads' below this.
That where your name comes from? haha
I remember when I was much younger, and into MTB and that, but was a kid so had no money. Used to buy MTBUK, always had adverts for the Dr Jekyll...
On Sunday I thought I'd tidy up something that has been bugging me since owning the car.
The little trim piece behind the rear wiper. Just wanted to remove it to give it some paint and pop it back on.
Nothing I had at home was cutting it to pull the wiper arm off, so off i popped to grab...
Ahh ok, if you could send me the template then that'd be sick!
And some very strong glue. Should be any reason it'd make it any tighter on this, no extra material on the inside.
I can't wait, the time is edging closer!
Not yet, no. I don't think any sort of metal cover is an option as for some reason they sit basically up against the handbrake cover.
I'm still thinking just a suede sock like thing just to hide them, I'll get around to sorting it eventually.
Bought a...
Model has better wheels on
Good progress though dude. I'd forgotten about that RS badge mod. Planned to do it on mine originally.
I need to go through @Phase1sr thread again for inspiration I think. After all, it was that car that made me buy one in the 1st place!
Funny you say that, I was dead against cutting the bumper, I at 1st completely refused.
Then we just couldn't get it sitting right at all without cutting it, so though f**k it, worse case, I'll get a new bumper.
From a normal height its barely even noticeable tbh, it doesn't bother me like I...
Almost a year later... I have an update of sorts.
Wheels still aren't on 😂
Not done a great deal, spent all my money last year on shoes rather than the car.
Think the only thing I really did last year was remove the CD changer and install an AUX in.
Pretty happy with it...
