I was actually looking at these earlier today. They're a copy of the Enkei RPF1 by the looks of it, I quite like the flat silver, but not sure on the centre cap though.
Doesn't seem to be that much info on them, but i believe ultralite wheels are quite popular on the classic mini scene, so...
Pretty sure the 100, 125 and 140 versions are all exactly the same, just mapped to reduce power. Therefore mpg should be exactly the same under the same conditions and driving style.
I know my wife's 150 bhp C-Max is detuned from the 180 bhp version. It just looses power from about 4 to 4.5k revs
Speeds will be higher and therefore pressure, but I'll not be braking from say 100+mph to nothing, it'll mostly be dropping 30-60 mph into corners at Donington I reckon. I think there is only one point that'll be braking really heavy and that'll be at the end of the back straight.
I'm going...
Experimented this morning on the way to work. Last few miles is all NSL country lanes, so kept speeding up and braking to try and simulate what might happen on the track.
Noticed the horrid smell when i pulled up to work, but didn't have any noticable brake fade. The pads were smoking quite a...
Well i'm torn between just picking up another set of Brembo's as spares in case i need another set. At least if i do need to change pads, I'll know i need to manage my braking a little better, and keep an eye on them so that i know i can get home.
Another part of me is say why cheap out on...
I'm doing my first track day at Donington on the 19th November. Is it worth changing my pads to something more track based? I'm currently using Brembo HC Disc and Brembo OE pads, which were fitted about 3 months ago (approx 4k road miles). Also got braided hoses at the front and good quality...
I've never delt with the guy, but i imagine if this is his own car, you'd hope it was done properly given some of his previous work.
At least you can insepct it before handing the money over and then drive it away the same day, well provided it's good. Better than paying upfront for a turbo...
I'd be interested in the cost of this too? Been weighing up options for new cars, or tuning my Clio (with RS2), and my belts need doing in 18 months time.
Was tempted buy the prices at CT recently, but upon searching the forum ED are the only really option.
It's on sportlines at the minute, but I have noticed the rear is a little higher since removing the rear seats (it's got a full tank of fuel in these pictures too), etc. I like the idea of going coilovers, so either B14's or BC's from Diamond Motors would probably be my preferred choice. Would...
So i got the tyres switched over this weekend, gave the car a quick wash while my daughter had her afternoon nap yesterday as i didn't get time last weekend.
Much happier with this colour over the Gold, but they're a little darker than i thought they'd be.
Removed the nasty looking Renault...
Didn't get chance to work on the car over the weekend.
But i did get chance to sort the Ultraleggera's out, twice...
I bought some Simoniz alloy wheel paint from Halfords that was suppose to be steel grey colour, it ended up being silver, so took it back and swapped it for some Peugeot Iron...
Can't say i've ever noticed the offset, when putting my Corbeau clubsports in on Jon Foz extra low frames, I just pushed the side mounts right up tight against the step in the subframe. That seemed to put me central with the steering wheel pretty much.
Not sure if it makes any difference but i'm...
Thanks for all the comments.
I'll dig out the graph when i get a minute at home (and i remember), for comparison.
To be honest i was tempted to sell the RS2 on recently, as my current car doesn't seem any faster than my old 182, with light breathing mods and RSTuner map. Then putting the money...
Very good point, I'd not really thought about that. I'll give them a ring later in the week.
I do have the graph, but only in paper format at the minute, torque is pretty flat and at around 150 for a large part of the rev range as is common with these. Can remember where peak power is, but it...
Fair enough, I just don't like them to be honest. Had them in the past and they're perfectly fine in the wet/damp. Just too soft in the dry if you want to push a little, even in XL. I bought a set of alloys recently with them fitted and the car became a little unsettled/unstable whereas before...
I've been tempted by the low boost kits on offer, but i've decided i'm going to stick with the RS2. Partly due to the cost and partly due to the issues several people have had (I know several have had no issues or only minor, etc). I also figured i'd just be better off buying a faster car if i...
Would love to have something like this.
I wouldn't have opted for RS3's though, they're not great on a standard car. With 300 bhp and a better selection of rubber, i'd have probably been looking at PS4's or similar.
Thanks for the comments and advice. Car looks smart there.
I've taken the Ultraleggeras back off the car now, they'll be getting a colour change shortly. Plus the Rainsports 3's are rubbish and the rears are probably past legal, The NS2R's are much better, at least in the dry.
The Ultraleggera...
So I didn't get much time to mess around with the car last weekend, but I did get 10-15 minutes to cut the rear carpet/trim to the right size and shape. Plan was to glue it down using spray glue, but for now it's just laid out and tucked under the existing trim.
Also the wheels I picked up...
Had my OnePlus 3 for a week now, and I'm pretty happy with it. Was tempted by the s7/edge and note 7, but didn't want to lose too much screen size coming from a nexus 6. In the end the only options really were the note 7 or the edge, and both were quite a big more expensive for marginal...
Can you get custom spacers made to suit the clio centre bore to the inner side and the mini wheel centre bore on the outer side?
At ET48, should be able to get away with a 25mm spacer, so should be plenty of material there.
I think Titanium silver is one of my preferred colour, I actually wanted either Artic Blue or Racing Blue when i purchased my Black Gold Clio. This time around I wanted to find a Titanium Silver and ended up with a Artic Blue.
There was a nice looking Liquid Yellow recently, with recaros for...
To be honest the Jetta was a good car when i sold it, i'd fixed and replaced everything that you'd expect to be a problem on them. It was also faster than the clio is in all but 1st gear/standing starts and i'd get 500 miles to a tank almost without fail. If I had the room on the drive i'd have...
So i sold my BG 182 in August 2014 a couple weeks after my wedding, as i knew i'd need a bigger car in the near future, didn't really want to sell it to be honest but put it up for sale for a bit more than i really expected to get for it and it basically sold within hours of posting it on here...
That's great.... I was pretty concerned, as I'd tried out quite a few seats at gsm before ordering these, but I'd not been able to try them out before as they don't stock then in the showroom. None of the other seats seemed to have any flex, at least noticeable flex.
I'll be fitting a pair today on x-low frames into my 182, if the weather improves this afternoon.
I must say though, I was a little surprised how much flex there was in the upper section of the seat. Hoping once there all bolted up it'll be a little better.
I'm taking the runners off mine, to...
