Top mount and strut brace package have been on my 'to buy' list for ages but I never seem to get round to buying them. Highly recommended by Fred as the best solid top mount kit out there so must be good!
Re: Ade's Renaultsport 182 Project
Okay, so I bought some Turini's! They were Strell2's and weren't exactly the colour I had in mind but nonetheless put them on anyway:
I think it looks great but I'm biased, and the contrast of the wheels really sets off the pop in the metallic paint! I...
I read on here that the dial on the wiper stalk is for how big the rain drops are. The thinner line for light spray and thicker for heavy rain. Since I've used that theory I don't have much trouble with mine now, however they do get over-eager when it's lashing it down.
Also, Rain-X wil push...
Nice mate, as Justin said in the blue 197 spotted thread, we'll have to get them together for some snaps!
Spotted a nice shiny BG 182 earlier turning off Harrowside - was that you? I know of another BG in the South Shore area so could've been that.
If you search the forums the GAZ coilover kits aren't that highly regarded due to lots of failures on the RS Clios. It put me off getting GAZ ones.
I'd already chosen a decatted Milltek before I'd bought my Clio! Love the sound!
The RSTuner/Fastchip is a great map. You won't release many...
The airbag module isn't. He used it to disable his drivers airbag, and then 24 months later my seat airbags when I got my Evo Recaro's. So it isn't locked down like the remapping function.
Just wondering whether it's locked to the RSTuner module or both module and installed software.
I think the way the anthracite Turini's blend with the surroundings, then the 'in your face' colour of Capsicum red really set these photo's off!
Photos and car look brilliant!
A friend has an RSTuner with the airbag module. I have an RSTuner without the airbag module.
I'm putting some standard seats back into my Clio so need to re-enable the airbags for the seats.
We disabled my airbags using his laptop & RSTuner software.
Will I be able to just hook his RST...
It doesn't say it's RN0710 spec, and the RN0710 spec itself means 'ACEA A3/B4 + additional Renault demands' from what I've read thus far... what would the additional demands be?
I wasn't prepared to pay £10 for next day delivery for oil so hunted around for Fuchs Titan SuperSyn locally. Unipart were the only place that stocked it. Went down and it's labelled up as Unipart Pro S400 so I challenged the guy and he said its the Fuchs. I bought it anyway and checked online...
About time I fixed this as it happened pre-FCS.
Basically I run my iPod lead from the rear of the headunit through into the glovebox. It's got stuck fast where the catch holds the glovebox closed. I've tried to prise open the glovebox slightly and insert a screwdriver to move the wire but its...
A decatted Milltek gives off a very nice noise... its the only reason I decatted mine.
As said, RSTuner 98Ron remap is the way to go. Completely changes the way the car drives for the better, gives you more torque mid-range so the car picks up speed lower down the revs better.
I can't understand what drives people to do this... jealousy maybe?
Re. cost, I had my roof re-sprayed (a quarter was sanded right back and re-sprayed, the whole roof was then re-laquered) and I paid £220.
This video made me decide upon what exhaust I wanted on my 182 well before I even bought it. Viewed lots of 182's and kept coming home empty-handed, almost decided upon a 172 but watched this again and decided no 172 exhaust makes quite that noise. Kept searching for a 182 and bought my...
I'd recommend you take it to a specialist to make sure the timing is correct because I can bet it's out. You need 3 Renault timing tools when doing the belts, it's not as simple as tipex and a screwdriver.
Re: Ade's Renaultsport 182 Project
Since FCS, not a great deal has happened with the car . Had the KW's set up properly which meant it had to be raised a little to get my camber etc right, but it corners very well now, massively impressed.
Today however, I did something I said I wouldn't ever...
The Cooksport springs are a better bit of kit.
Im not sure on the V1 & V2 differences, I'd imagine you lose some adjustability on the V1's such as damping.
From what I've read on here, all you do by swapping to Cup suspension is limit your coilover options if you plan to do that further down the line. I had so much hassle finding coilovers for mine due to insisting on buying a full fat 182.
I was told to avoid the GAZ as they are fairly poor on the RS Clio's even though they are good on other makes & models. I ended up with a set of KW V2's that had been modified to fit Cup suspension.
I hate breaking budget but I'm so glad I did on this occasion, they are fantastic! Tons of...
I know what you mean entirely!
I had a VW Golf (the 1.8 Turbo model) and it was only slightly slower than the Clio in a straight line (it was mapped to 192BHP) but the Clio is just so raw compared to it.
VAG's are a 'comfortable' fast, I find the Clio a more scary, dramatic fast with all the...
