With all fluids and a little bit of fuel. Enough fuel for a session at a track day before coming in for a cool down.
Its things like having Ultraleggers with slicks over 2118's with R888's which saved me 20KG.
Fully rewiring my car must have saved me 10/15kg.
Our engine bays are pretty...
Yeah I recon it should be fine, the mount I have is actually broken from my little ring bump so I need to buy a new one anyway
Yeah it's a shame I can't drive it this year.
The black pipe is just hanging and venting to the air but it will be going to a can, monster can or something. I just...
Thanks mate, I have put a lot of effort into the car. Glad you like it. If you have 10k you can have it ;)
My carbon splitter will be for sale at some point soon.
Smallest update ever!
Washed the car as it was going green in places.
And I cut down my gearbox mount just too see If it looks better before I buy a new one or get one fabricated.
That's it for now :)
I drove the car with the front wheels off the ground to get a bit of the rust off the front brake discs and I remembered how much I love how the car pops and bangs.
Just speccing up wheel studs ATM. Give me something to do on the car :)
The splitter is getting remade with 8mm marine ply. My friend made one on a vx220 time attack car and he said that it's strong enough with how it is.
So the new one won't be needing supports.
I started the car Sunday, first time In quite a while. Started first time and ran perfectly :)
Excellent stuff Fred. Always a good feeling to get a car moving under it's own stem after months of it not moving.
Got any pictures of what the car looks like now?
Yeah looms built from scratch are crazy money for places like TDF and the wizards of wiring or what ever they are called. £900 is great price for interiour looms I suppose, I charge £899.99 now ;)
Good luck with getting it all running :)
I wouldn't say no if it was given to me, but if I had one i'd want to live at the Nurburgring and those wheels would not help smashing it round the carousel!
The roof looks much better :)
Once it's got some decent wheels with a decent offset then it should look more manly!
I do actually really like MX5's cheap enough to have fun sideways and not matter if you write it off.
So is this car going to have a splash of colour like the old boost bus did?
On icemans Brit car we fitting one similar to the link you posted and and a pipe coming from the engine into the tank and then a small breather on the other tube on the tank. I just have a long tube going to a monter energy drink can!
I think it just depends on the driver. Some people (ben stevo) could munch his way through gearboxes and others have lasted 10,000miles with the same sort of power.
Mine battery tray broke too.
I'm still trying to find a gearbox to chassie mount that doesnt have the huge batttery tray.
Other Renault models dont fit from the reasearch i did. :(
Looks nice and tidy. I do like your Rocker cover paint.
No doubt Fred will comment on the fact you have put one of your gearbox bolts on the wrong way!
I don't think there is an option, what I did it just tilt the rad forward at much as I could and cable tied it in the position. I did t have my slam panel on. If you want more room I would get a slim line fan.
Yeah it's a jenvey one, it was cheaper buying it through OMEX than through jenvey iirc! By the tine I bought all the bits and bobs for the fuel rail it cost over £150!
My 182 produced roughly 175 bhp standard and when I put jenvey throttle bodies on with 90mm trumpets it produced 200bhp & 165ft/lb of torque. Should be 205ish now I've removed AC, PAS and have a much better air filter/box.
Can vary quite a bit tho with the F4R engine
