No the physical turrets in the newer cars are smaller I believe, so older 200/197 top mounts won't fit a newer car Not sure of the actual change over date late 2009 rings a bell

Could be either really The boot button is common for water ingress however this usually shows itself as the boot randomly popping open at any time, The button can be easily stripped down mind so that would be where I'd start. I'm also sure you can open the boot from inside I *think*...

Dephaser a non service item, as in its not on renaults schedule for replacement Anyway they are noisey when warm, not cold, and the noise tends to phase out above 1800rpm. I've not heard of any dephaser issues on the mk3 (yet)

I had an Albi 197 and it never photos well. In the flesh it's awesome, can look really different in changing light conditions :)

Nice car I'm looking at springs maybe, not sure if the H&R's are a little too low for factory dampers, i was thinking eibach possibly. (i'd probably get some B14's but i hardly use the car as it i) Also going to de chrome the exhaust trim, not a fan.

Badly needs cupped 182 alloys, I've never thought silver works with rb Top Nick though! I've also never got the mini thing, my mrs has an r56 and its handling is weird , seems to tram line like f**k, oh and it rattles as bad as any Clio I've had :(

Too low, throw that down a B road and it won't handle it at all. Mine was lowered on kw'sand it still rubbed when in big dips/undulations. I reckon mine was 10-15 mm higher than that

No chance on a free gearbox, you *may* get a good will contribution, but on a 197, i doubt it. I just bought a replacement for mine, and got a specialist to swap it over. They are a weak point, but I had 2 197's and probably covered around 80k in them. A test drive should weed a bad one out, if...

I had a cup, if it's well specced the only thing your missing is climate, powered mirrors, colour coded bump strips and a soft touch dash. All the other things on an r27 like climate, xenons were also options... So you can still get an r27 with cheapie headlights and manual AC You also can't...

Ive bought one (whole knob lol) not cheap, around 50 quid iirc. Was about 4 years ago mind.

Not driven a GTi, but I had a MK5 R32, and its build left a lot to be desired. Felt dated too.

sport lines would have made it sit better without too much loss of comfort? ^^ still o.e looking?? Oh and nightmares? :wink: callipers next? :wink:

still look for a decent 197, or a magane R26 imo. They have more about them than a VXR in terms of 'feel'

Its a hateful job, I've got a Porter Cable PC, had it since about 2006! (can you still get them?) Still going strong, however wish i had a rotary for more speed 😧
