Trust me, they are 100% not coded and yeah I've done one or two in my day to day job before.
Turning lights are activated when the steering when is turned beyond 15° either way and the dipped beam is on. To see if you have them just turn the lights on and turn the wheel... If they come on then...
No they aren't coded but you need to make sure you get the right version as some have turning lights and others don't... Obviously if you have these lights you need the adequate UPC
Standard management use both Crank position and Cam position and plots a graph to ensure they're in the correct position relative to one another... We call this "synchronisation".
The engine management then can see what "advance" the Dephaser pulley is pulling and adjust the timing accordingly...
Thanks for the heads up Mike I will deffo give that a look. I was going to do an in line pressure test at the rail to on Monday but I think I'll check the tank to.
Yeah its very true and becoming more common. Even I've had a guy from Liverpool call regarding a car I've worked on before asking for duplicates because he didn't believe the clutch had been done... He was right, I'd never seen the car before.
This was a car that sold on eBay of all places!
I've got a 1.4 16v Meg II come in today with zero throttle response, just splutter splutter cough cough. Ignition and injection functioning fine on the Scope, compression is balanced and everything looks fine in CLIP but it just will not rev freely. A previous garage has thrown coils, plugs...
You've seen on screen fuel pressure drop.
You've also done a leak off test which shows conclusively that Inj 2 is returning more fuel that it should
What more proof are you looking for? Injector is ballsed and needs replacing/refurbishing... the end
Sounds like the pump itself and the control circuit needs testing to me.
Start by giving the pump a direct +12v and earth with a power probe and see if it runs. Then test the cars circuit as I bet it's a wiring issue.
