i've done the nurburgring on them, no problem (ok they went a bit blue, but they didn't fall apart!)
its done in the same way they make new tyres, they just use old cases, as long as the rubber is vulcanised properly its fine
stock bore is 82.7mm, stock pistons from memory are 82.63mm (that's a guess) i guess you're keeping stock pistons? So just a quick glaze bust/flexihone?? he should know what ring gaps should be
big ends from memory are 1.5thou
mains, would have to check, but i's guess around 1.5-2thou
thrust -...
erm he only has to gap the rings, lap in the thrust washers, measure the crank and gauge the bearings
if he's asking for those measurements then i'd be going elsewhere! Don't even get me started on timing up the cams LOL
erm without trying to upset you, surely the person doing the work should know all this before accepting the job? I do hope they've done these before, but judging by your comment i guess not!!
I'd love to be employed by RUK and go round all the dealerships cracking the whip, would be hilarious! I remember telling the RTE at a dealership in Scotland how to fix something on Chic's car over the phone as he didn't have a clue
PAS pump/waterpump knackered or the aux tensioner has seized etc etc, get it checked ASAP, should be under warranty with whoever did the work, it certainly would be if it was us!
