That is very true! :) We've just bought a Clio 197 as well for the mrs, and it is certainly big compared to the Twingo, although alongside a 172/182 its about the same size, but the newer Clio's are even bigger again!
Thanks for the Twingo comments people, appreciated! I know it's not a Clio, but its close enough
Wheels are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 : 7x 16" ET38 with 195/45/16 tyres.
Suspension is standard cup shocks with H&R -25mm lowering springs all round, bushes have been up-rated. Engine...
Probably unlikely, but could be a valve problem (hopefully not) but if you've replaced everything else on the ignition side and it's only from one cylinder then it's possible...
Indeed! I couldn't possibly list every car though, I'd crash the forum [emoji85][emoji23] I do as it happens... However not in the selling/shop side [emoji20]
Thanks, it's really good fun to be honest. Locally there are lots of country lanes, b-roads etc and the Twingo really does excel on them, very agile and keep the engine in the power band and use the revs and you've got quite a potent little car. It'll never set the world on fire, and as I say...
Hi people, thought I would make an introduction post... Have had a few performance french cars in the past (Clio 172, saxo vtr, 106 xsi track car to name a few), as well as numerous other cars but have recently returned to the world of french car ownership after needing a fun, cheap second car...
Might have been your rear wheel bearing making the banging noise if it had failed in a bad way? Unlikely to be but the description from your garage is quite fague lol.
Updated my iPhone at the weekend as prompted when I connected it up to sync it, however after backing up and then attempting to update the phone it comes up with an error message and then says cannot restore. I had to use a separate pc to get it to even power up again properly and since then...
Ht leads on correctly? Plug gaps correct? Not knocked anything when doing the plugs did you?
Only other thing could be a blocked or partially blocked cat...
Is there anything that could be causing a rear shock to fail on a frequent basis? I've replaced the rear shocks but the drivers side one I have replaced twice in two weeks, but not the passenger side :( Any thoughts?
I would also recommend checking your rear shock absorbers as my 172 displayed similar problems and it turned out to be a rear shock and the wheels needed re-balancing...
Well today was quite eventful, double checked all the suspension and everything seemed fine apart from the drivers rear shock was leaking, so took it off and got a new one (I'd only replaced it last week!) and also had the wheels re-balanced and the fronts must have balanced before by a blind...
Did yours give the same symptons as that of what I described? I wasn't sure how they were able to be tightened, they just looked fixed in line with the steering/rack.
Thanks for the info...
What would be an acceptable amount of movement in the bushes when rocking the steering from side to side? The ones on my 172 move about an inch either side when the steering is being turned - is this normal?
Reason I ask is the front of the car feels vague and the steering doesnt feel as...
I've also jacked up the car and taken the passenger wheel off, with the wheel off there is no clicking at all... So it's obviously only when weight is on the part at fault.... Any ideas?
When stationary my ph1 172 has developed a clicking from the passenger side wheel suspension when turning, it's only at one exact point of the turn as well just two clicks.... Any ideas what it might be? Thanks.
Does anyone have, or know the part number for the small sport badge that goes on the doors, where they would on a 172 cup.
They just say "sport" and thinking about them for my 172.... Thanks :)
You could have too much oil in the engine which is trying to find a way out and that pipe being the way it's escaping? Failing that there must be a pressure build up forcing the pipe off, and seeing as you've also got oil everywhere most likely related...
